乗って、直す。それの繰り返し。古い乗り物の魅力と醍醐味ですな。

RJ! he's an official cannonball machinist and sweeper this year and has been helping cannonballers every day and night. he's bored several motors in Daytona Beach even before the start of the race. him and all other mechanics are the true heroes in this kind of race because without them, those antique motorcycles won't keep on going for 4,000 miles :)

前回は誰かのチームのマシニストとして参加していたRJ。今回はキャノンボールのオフィシャル・マシニストそしてスウィーパーとしてキャノンボーラー達を支えてくれています。レースが始まる前のフロリダですでに何台ものマシンのボーリング加工をし、レースが始まってからは連夜こっちのチーム、あっちのチームをはしごして一台でも多く壊れてしまったマシンがレースに戻れるよう奮闘しています。こういったレースでは彼やメカニック達の陰ながらのサポートこそが要のように思われます。だって、壊れたマシンが直らなければ走れないのだから。

RJ is now working for someone's cylinder head and came to our open-air pit to use some tools and shinya's hands :)

今宵も誰かのシリンダーヘッドの加工に忙しいRJ。ツールと木村氏の手を借りに80番の青空ピットに来ました。

tomorrow, we have 300-mile ride and seems like our indian is ready.

明日のステージは500km、どうやらチーム80番の準備が整ったようです。

shinya's trying to shake down the XL100 a bit more for his niece to ride smoothly.

もう少しXL100のセッティングを調整して、画家が乗りやすくしよう。そう思い立った叔父木村。
