there is a front fork that shinya wants to install on this SR400 but in order to do so, he needed to devote his attention to modifying here and there.

使いたいフロントフォークがあるので、本日は取り付けるための加工作業に徹する。

it's a pity to waste...

when shinya heard that our friend had some junk motors and parts that he was about to throw away... yeah, of course. went to pick them up, taking them apart, and now sorting out all the useful parts and fasteners 😆 

知り合いがいらないから捨てるというジャンクなエンジンを捨てるんだったら俺がもらうと言ってもらってきてバラして使えるネジやらパーツやらを仕分けるする変の態の姿を、あなたは見たいですか？あ、もう見てますよ。

なんだか少し恐ろしくなった夜・・・

left Azusa around 6 am and 5+ hours later, we are in Monterey :) 

急遽、朝6時にアズサを出発。5時間ちょっと後に北カリフォルニアのモントレーに到着。

our empty van looked like this another 2 hours later :D　looks like a pile of junk but they are treasures for some people, right? mostly 60s Honda parts and motors.

さらにその2時間後にはカラだったチャボバンがこんな感じで満載に。ガラクタなんて言ったら叱られます。60年代のホンダのパーツやエンジンなど、人によっては大切な宝の山なんでしょうけど、宝に見えない。

had to help the seller to clean his garage in order to get some more stuff and extra discount 👀 my whole body aches. 

なぜか売主のおじいさんのガレージの掃除まで手伝う派目に。てきぱき働いて更なる値引きやゴミオマケをゲット。身体が痛い。

that was a flying visit. thought Monterey was an oceanfront resort where people take a vacation and get relaxed... haha

トンボ帰り。確かモントレーってオサレなリゾート地じゃなかった？ま、楽しかったからいいんですけども。

CB77の調整が始まった。

you always need to test it after tuning, right? so we need to take a night ride, right? :D ok, let's go!

調整したらテスト・ライド。ということで、夜の町を探検しにレッツゴー。

came back in a pretty good mood.

いい感じで帰還。

その後すぐ、再び探検に出かける。もういつまでも乗っていたい、そんな気分。

K, A and S, the team Toyooka came all the way from aichi, japan just to hand in some more parts that they made for us for our 1915 indian. it started from the　conversation between shinya and niimie after 2 cannonball races. they learned weak points of this particular indian very much, they wished they had stronger this and that and K said maybe he could try.

Kワスミ氏率いる愛知県岡崎市のトヨオカが、仲間のAべ氏とSズキ氏と一緒にインディアンのパーツを届けるためだけにアズサまで来てくれた。お盆休みしか休みが取れないという激務の中、3泊4日という弾丸ツアー。なんという心意気！過去2回の経験から、このインディアンの弱点が分かった木村氏とN美氏が、「コレとアレとソレと・・・もっと強いパーツがあったらいいのにな」に商売抜きで答えてくれたのがKワスミ氏。限りなく変の態サイド、熱い男なのであーる。

the crank pin and cages made by Toyooka. we named them type OTOYO. they made a couple of them for our indian and came up with this one by trial and error. since we have no time for the complete compatibility test, it will be more like an off-the-cuff. we now know that anything could happen during the cannonball so we just gotta go for it.

こちらがトヨオカ製のクランク・ピンとケージの最終形。タイプ「オトヨ」と命名。出来れば「オトヨ」で大陸横断を果たしたい。しかし、相性テストする時間が余りにも短いのでほぼぶっつけ本番。何が起きるか分からない。そして、経験上何でも起こり得るのがキャノンボール。だから、みんなの気持ちを大切にただただ　ゴールを目指すしかないのであーる！

まあこんな状態を見せられても、これが6400km走って大陸横断するなんて、ピンとこないでしょうけども・・・
