when shinya heard that our friend had some junk motors and parts that he was about to throw away... yeah, of course. went to pick them up, taking them apart, and now sorting out all the useful parts and fasteners 😆 

知り合いがいらないから捨てるというジャンクなエンジンを捨てるんだったら俺がもらうと言ってもらってきてバラして使えるネジやらパーツやらを仕分けるする変の態の姿を、あなたは見たいですか？あ、もう見てますよ。

なんだか少し恐ろしくなった夜・・・

mystery man's secret project...

a gentleman came in and said he had a project and needed shinya's help　and started to draw something on the floor before shinya could respond to it.

こちらのジェントルマンが突然やって来て、自分のプロジェクトを手伝ってほしいと木村氏に迫る。木村氏が何かを言う前にそのプロジェクトの説明をいきなり床に描き始める。ガクブル。
 

shinya told him that he has his own projects and no time right now and the gentleman was bummed a bit but then he found spike and got so excited. "is this for land speed racing? in 1973 i got 201 mph on triumph dual engine streamliner and i believe my record is still there!"

木村氏が今は自分のプロジェクトでいっぱいいっぱいだから、ごめんなさい、と言うと少しがっかりするジェントルマン。が、スパイクを見つけて大興奮する。「ほう、ランドスピード・レーサーじゃな、これは！ワシは1973年にトライアンフのエンジンを2機積んだストリームライナーで201マイルを出して、そのレコードは今ものこっておるはずじゃ。」と言うではありませんか。

so shinya couldn't say no to him anymore. his project was to put honda mopet motor on a bicycle and wanted to keep the pedal so that it still remains as a bicycle. he wanted shinya to make some parts for it. "i bet you can do it!" he said.

仕方がないので説明を聞く。自転車にカブのエンジンを積みたいらしい。ペダルを付けたままなら自転車だから登録もヘルメットも不要。そして、それに必要なパーツを作ってほしいとのこと。「あんたなら出来るじゃろ！」
 

since our workshop was really hot and felt sorry for him to wait so shinya told him that he would make the parts and deliver it to him later today and asked his address. then the gentleman K said "that's impossible because i live in a mobile dwelling, i'll come back at 5!" and he left :)

暑い中待たせるのも悪いので、「パーツが出来たら届けるから住所を教えてください。」と木村氏が言うと、「それは無理じゃ。ワシの家は移動式だからな。5時に取りに来る」と言い残して上機嫌で去って行ったのでした。

after midnight sports festival...

so, shinya spent　all day with beemer at concert pitch, we took a night walk to calm him down before we take a rest.　it was already 1am or so.

ひがな一日ベーエンヴェーと向き合い大興奮な木村氏。日付もすでに変わっておりますが、気持ちを静めるために夜中の散歩へ。

instead of calm him down, the night walk made a cold shower effect and totally wakened him :<

え？こんな時間から軍手しちゃいますか？何か始まっちゃいますか？散歩から戻り、気持ちが静まるどころか覚醒してしまった木村氏。イヤな予感がする夜中の2時過ぎ。

okay, he started rustling through the boxes full of used parts...

ガサゴソと奥から古パーツの箱を出してきて整頓し始める木村氏。ま、これならすぐに終わりそうなので問題ない・・・

but then...he started to move around heavy stuff. why do i have a bad feeling about this?

が、それ動かしますか？そこいっちゃいますか？奥にあったポンチ・マスィーンを動かしたい一心の木村氏には見えていないと思いますが、動かしたくない一心の私には見えちゃうのです。そこからソレを動かすには、その後ろのマスィーンも動かさなきゃならないことが。

to get the punch machine out, i think you need to move the springer fork press behind it, too, shinya!

しかし、覚醒しているとは言っても朝からずーーっとベーエンヴェーの解体で実はクタクタに疲れている木村氏、絶対無理な隙間にグイグイとポンチ・マスィーンをはめ込み無理強いをし始める。人間疲れてると無茶をしてしまいます。

i told you! after this, it became chaotic so there is no picture because i had to help with all my might :D eventually, we had to move the slip roller.

おっと、ついに後ろのマスィーンを動かし始めた！ここからは写真がありません。なぜならカオスと化した今、写真なんて撮っていないで参加しろ的な空気に包まれ・・・最終的には3本ローラーも動かす羽目になりました。押して、引いて、押して、引いて、真夜中の大運動会。夜中に渾身の力を振り絞ったことはありますか？力み過ぎて髪の毛がニョキッと伸びる音が聞こえました。

the tempest passed. everything fell into the right place. now shinya is calm and putting the tank on the JD.

1時間ほど格闘の末、取りあえず落ち着き満足したのかJDにタンクを取り付けたりしてみる木村氏。この、お騒がせさんめっ！

"huh? it hasn't changed much, has it?" shinya looked at the area that WE struggled for an hour. "it looks better now!" i said swiftly.

え、まさか！改めて模様替えしたエリアを見直すと、あんなに苦労して力を振り絞ったのに、あんまり変わっていない・・・という驚愕の事実。がっくりの木村氏。

finally he said he was tired :) night-night

そして、急激な疲れに襲われる。よし、終了！

and our workshop becomes a smokehouse...

today shinya took his 80s sporty for the late afternoon canyon ride.

本日は夕方の山乗りにご自分のエイティーズ・スポーティを選んだ木村氏。

and he fell in love with it again :)

そしてご自分のオートバイに惚れ直す木村氏。
 

every time i ride my SR i fell in love with it, too.

わかる、わかる、SRに乗る度にいっそう好きになるもの。

got these on the way to new york. left one is zion because we passed zion and right one is mount rushmore because we were gonna pass monut rushmore but, in fact, our indian was in pieces when we were in south dakota :< still a good memory :)

ニューヨークに行く途中で手に入れた懐かしいお土産。左は見えにくいけどザイオン国立公園。これは行きに通ったので。右はマウント・ラッシュモア、あの岩に大統領の顔が彫ってあるアレ。ここはキャノンボール中に通るからと一足先に入手。しかし実際は第一回エンジン下ろし、そして再び組み上げることになる思い出のサウス・ダコタに・・・もちろんマウント・ラッシュモアを見る余裕などありませんでしたので、素通り。でも良い思い出。

then shinya and i dropped our gaze and found this tool box full of treasures under the bench. everything looked familiar for some reason but none of us remembered putting that box there. then we recalled that niimie had said about it that instead of shipping them he wanted to take it with him on the plane. and he left it there... oh, well. 

それから視線を下に落とすとチャボの奥のスナックコーナーのベンチの下に、見た覚えのある箱がひっそりと置かれているのが見えた！開けてみるとN美臭が漂っていた。N美氏が今回の旅で見つけた色々。そう言えば細々したものを送るのが面倒だから手荷物で持って帰るからと用意していたような気が・・・そのまま忘れて帰っちゃったのね。N美氏らしいね。ここに預かっておきますよ！

yes, it got a bit cooler than last week but was still in upper 90s. it made me sweat even more when i saw shinya...

先週に比べたら少しは気温が下がったとは言え、本日もまだ摂氏37℃は下らない。でも、木村氏のこの姿は一体・・・がまん大会なのか？！ご本人は涼しい顔で、秋に納品予定のオブジェ制作に取り掛かっていますが、見ているこちらが汗だくです。

in a engineer's coat that JM in london sent him a while ago. shinya was working on the special art object with a cool face but i could see him sweating.

前にJMがロンドンから送ってくれたイギリスのエンジニアはみんな着ているという、エンジニア・コート。この暑さの中、なぜ故？コスプレで気分を盛り上げているのか？

guess it was too hot, after all. mysterious.

やっぱり脱いだ。どうしても着たかったのかな、謎。
