and back at work by noon. shinya continues to put some color on the knuckle. this time, the rear fender.

そして日曜日のお昼過ぎにはチャボに戻って作業をしている、という時差マジック！ほんと赤目便って我々の性分に合っています。早速ナッコーの色塗りの続き、リア・フェンダー。

he added some lines, too. very deep and subdued color is harmonized with aluminum, i think. and...can't believe we just got back from the East Coast.

ラインも入れました。落ち着いた色がぐっとアルミの金属感を引き締めている感じがします、個人的に。そして・・・ちょっと前まで東にいたのが嘘のようです。

motorcycle film festival in brooklyn : day 2...

in the morning in Brooklyn. it was definitely autumn here and we could even feel a touch of winter in the air. so much difference from SoCal, we were having the second summer in fall.

ブルックリンの朝。気温は完全に秋。顔に当たる風には冬の気配さえ感じられる。秋にもう一度夏が来る南カリフォルニアとはまったく別の雰囲気。少し東京みたいで懐かしい。

swung by Keino's shop for the first time! it's always inspiring to talk with friends from the other side and check out their workshops. thank you, Keino for you your time and hospitality!

さて、観光をしない我々ですが今回ブルックリンで行きたかった所の二つ目は、Keino氏のショップ。何だかんだでずっと行けず仕舞いで今回初めてたどり着いた。東側で活躍している友人達に会って話を聞いたり、ショップを見せてもらったりすると本当に刺激になる。Keino、時間を割いてくれてありがとう！

back to MFF.　many motorcyclists were gathering for the screening.

再びモーターサイクル映画祭の会場へ。上映会にたくさんオートバイ好きが集まって来ていた。

one of the founders of the MFF JD and shinya. they lose all concept of time talking about motorcycle :) (probably most of the people in the venue were all like that)

こちらもこの映画祭の首謀者の一人JDと談笑中の木村氏。オートバイの話をしていると完全に時間を忘れてしまうこのお二人。（きっとこの会場の中にいる人達みんなそうだと思うけど）

we had a chance to try out Yamaha FJ09. not only Honda but Yamaha and BMW were some of the sponsors of this year's MFF. it's amazing that those big companies collaboratively help great event for motorcyclist like this one.

今度はヤマハのFJ09を乗らせてもらう。ホンダに続いてヤマハとBMWもこの映画祭のスポンサーに名乗りを上げてくれたそう。メーカーもどんどん協力してオートバイの世界を盛り上げていけたらいいなあ。

after screening "two stroked - a love story", judges and film makers on the stage. this was one of our favorite films, too.

「two stroked」という2ストのモペットを中心としたカワイイ映画の上映後、審査員の一部と映画を製作したモペットを愛する女子大生達が壇上で談笑。とっても雰囲気のあるほんわかした素敵な映画。

after the judges' final meeting right before the MFF award ceremony. Paul d'Orleans, Jack Drury and Corina Mantlo. without these three, this festival would not has been possible to happen. pure ingredients of their love for motorcycle and passion for film made it incredible event like this. thank you and love you guys! and shinay said "as motorcycle enthusiasts, we got to come together and do something good for the motorcycle community!" i agree.

さて、授賞式の直前。審査員が最後の話し合いを終えたところ。PdO氏JD氏そしてCM氏、この3人が言い出してやり出さなかったらこの映画祭は生まれなかった。もっとモーターサイクルが出てくる素晴らしい映画が生まれれば良いのに！というオートバイ愛と映画が好きという純粋な気持ちで始まったこの映画祭。オートバイ好きな人達にとって良いこと、楽しめることに我々もどんどん協力していかねばなりませんな。

 and the award ceremony started. best short documentary goes to "two stroked -a love story" !!

そして授賞式の始まり。最優秀ショート・ドキュメンタリーは「two stroked」のモペット愛に！

"people's choice" goes to "Dirtbag II" !! congratulations!

motorcycle film festival in brooklyn: day 1...

at LAX after midnight.

真夜中のLA空港。

 voila! when we woke up, we were in Brooklyn!

寝て起きたらニューヨーク！そして地下鉄でブルックリンに到着。

shinya spotted an abandoned XS750 (not so popular model) on the street and, for some reason, got so excited.

地下鉄の駅から目的地まで歩いていると放置されたヤマハの不人気車TX750を発見。なぜかものすごく喜ぶ木村氏。謎。

J, one of the founders of this motorcycle film festival, looked like he was very excited to see shinya.

木村氏が会場にたどり着いたのを見て喜んでくれているのは、このモーターサイクル映画祭を始めた一人であるJ。

Honda was the one of the sponsors of the festival and generously offered some of their machines for judges to ride around while we were in town. shinya picked NC700X (automatic)to try out. 

映画祭のスポンサーに名乗りを上げてくれたホンダは様々な形で協力してくれている。例えば審査員達がブルックリンに滞在中に乗る用に何台も新しいオートバイを提供してくれたり。着いて早々にNC700Xというオートマティックのバイクを選んで乗る気満々の木村氏。

to be able to meet and talk with film makers, their team, and supporters in person is the highlight of this event. this is director Paolo Asuncion of Dirtbag II, one of our favorite films in the festival :) we feel very great and positive energy from them that makes us feel alive.

映画祭に参加している作品の制作者・出演者の皆さんと直接会ってお話出来るのが楽しい。来て良かったと心から思える瞬間。木村氏が前作から気に入っている「Dirtbag II」の監督PA氏と盛り上がる木村氏。何かをがむしゃらに自分達の手で作っている人達からは面白くてポジティブな気が流れていて元気になりますな。

checking out Akichi Flea that our friend Fumi of Sixth Street Specials started in Brooklyn with his friends last spring. they usually open every saturday and sunday but they are open tonight! how lucky we are!

今回ブルックリンで行きたかったところが二つあって、そのうちのひとつが友人のFミ氏（sixth street specials)が春から仲間と始めたアキチ・フリーマーケット。いつもは土日に開催されているんだけど、今日はラッキーなことに金曜日の夜だけどやっているというのでのぞいてみた！イエイ（夏の間だけかも）

they haul old airstreams from all over the U.S. and transformed them to these super cool shops all by themselves. this one is Fumi and Asami-chan's shop full of old moto parts and handmade/vintage jewelry and other neat stuff.

全米のあちこちから古いエアストリームを引っ張ってきて、全部自分達の手でめちゃくちゃカッコイイショップに改装してある。ここはFミ氏とAサミちゃんのお店。オートバイのパーツ、Aサミちゃんのハンドメイドのジュエリー、ヴィンテージ・ジュエリーや雑貨など、面白いものが山盛り！

こちらのエアストリームは古着屋さん！オサレだなあ、まったく。

here comes Fumi with some flat track race machines! he has AMA race at OVRP race track tomorrow and day after. wish we could be there.

お、Fミ氏がレース車両を載せたトラックで登場。週末OVRCでフラット・トラックのレースがあるんだって。観たかったなあ。

Fumi and shinya. though it was only for a moment, we were so happy to see them again.

談笑中のFミ氏と木村氏。西で会っても東で会ってもFミ氏とAサミちゃんは変わらないなあ。ほっとする。ほんのちょっとだけだったけどアキチに来れて良かった。

back at the MFF screening. shinya has already watched all films, however this one, "out of nothing", a true story of 4 tenacious men purely seeking for the record of motorcycle land speed racing is worth watching again and again.

会場に戻って映画のスクリーニングに参加。木村氏は審査のために一足先に全部のエントリー作品（第一次予選を通過作品）を鑑賞済み。でも、ボンネビルの最高速レースが舞台のこの映画は何度でも観たい。オートバイで最高速レコードを目指す4人の実話。涙なくしては観られない。
