no time for a sentimental journey...

this is like Christmas and a birthday rolled into one for Wata.

今のこの事態は盆と正月・クリスマスとお誕生日が同時に来たようなもんだ、というWタナベ氏。

he sometimes gets brand new pistons for his customers' vehicles  but never for himself. 

仕事じゃなくて自分のために新品のピストンを使える贅沢さ。

he never had a chance to spend time this lavishly on his own racing project.

レースのことだけを考えて時間を惜しみなく使える贅沢さ。

 but the clock is ticking...

しかし、そんな感傷に浸っている時間はない。

26 days until Speedweek 2017.

スピードウィークまであと26日。

sweet and sour...

highway 39 to Crystal Lake finally reopened last month. because of the closure, we've been taking some different routes and haven't been to Crystal Cafe, our favorite, on the top since january. so we decided to go up for the first time in 4 months.

1月の始めからクリスタル・レイクに続く道が途中から閉鎖されたままになっていて、しばらくクリスタル茶屋にも行けていなかった。その間別のルートばかり乗っていて気がつかなかったけど、先月開通していたみたいなので久々上まで行ってみることに。

 had a great ride until this point...

いやぁ、やっぱりこの道最高。と・・・ここまでは爽快なライド。

then shinya's B50 seized... it was the one that couldn't be fixed on-site, expecting some worst possible outcomes. well, it happens.

で、この後急に木村氏のBSAがボハッと煙を出して止まる。くぅぅ。この場で直せないやつだ。最悪な結果がいくつか予想されますな。

 so i left shinya and the BSA here...

なので、木村氏とBSAをここに残して・・・

rode down (had a great ride), picked up our van, and went back up to rescue shinya and the BSA :D

一人でびゅんびゅん下って（楽しかった）チャボバンに乗り換え、再び上までレスキューに来ましたとさ。

back to the workshop and shinya started to investigate at once. and the worst case scenario came true, we could see a hole in the piston. bummer!

チャボに戻ってさっそく調査に乗り出す木村氏。予想的中、ピストンに綺麗な穴が開いているのが見える。がびーん。

 now the motor is pulled out.

エンジン降ろす。

 got to find out the cause(s).

原因究明、調べなきゃ。

 marshmallow, anyone?

えー、穴あきピストンいかがですかぁ？

recalling all these fun memories. trail riding in low gear, flat track practicing in low gear... maybe rode it too hard.

思い起こせばBSAとは楽しい思い出ばかり。トレイル遊びにフラット・トラックの練習・・・あれ、ローで酷使し過ぎたか？

 giving a TLC for now.

とりあえず今は愛を込めて綺麗にする。

and shinya's "finding a piston for the B50" journey starts right now...

そして木村氏のピストン探しの旅が始まる。本日の教訓：息抜きは時に仕事を増やす。

アグゥスタとカワサキに集中するって言ったばっかりだけど、来年の大陸横断キャノンボールの準備も始めないと、すぐ来ちゃう。ほんと突然やって来るタイプ、キャノンボールは。

オリジナル鉄ピストン。前回のキャノンボールで半月型に割れちゃったんだった。今でもこれを見ると胃がきゅーってなる。
