we wanted to share the view that we found yesterday with our friends. so we brought them to the spot.

作業の途中で、昨日見た景色を皆にも見せてあげたい、と思いついたチェルシー・木村氏。友人達を誘って昨日の場所まで山越え。

the canyon diorama...

yam yam ride day. we took the reverse route B.

ヤマハの日。シエラ・マドレ山脈コースを逆から入ってみました。

looking over the route A (the white road)that we usually take to the crystal cafe on top.

なんと、白く見える道がいつものコース。こうして反対側の上から見下ろすと、こんなに緩やかな道なんですね。これをずっと上っていくとクリスタル茶屋に続きます。いやあ、感動。

eagle! thunderbird buzzard! there were two of them but couldn't capture them together.

あ、感動していたら鷲が近い！連れ去られそうなくらい大きかった・・・これ本当。鷲と書いたら鷲な訳ないじゃん、鷹だよ、とのご指摘が。鷲くらい大きかったのにな。コンドル？あんまり違いが分からないけど・・・連れ去り系だった。
 

originality and ingenuity...

a guy on 70's shovel stopped by a while ago and he came back, this time with his friend. he came with a bug today but his friend rode a 90's sporty which didn't even look like a 90's sporty.

先日チャボに偶然寄ってくれた70年代から同じショベルに乗っているというおっちゃんが、「また来るぜ」の言葉通り、今度は友達を連れてまた寄ってくれた。今日はおっちゃんはバグで来ていたけど、おっちゃんの友達は自作のパーツで改造した90年代のスポーツスターで。様々な工夫がされていて、90年代のオートバイには見えないクラッシックな仕上がり。

his friend gave him an ahooga horn so he put it on his sportster.

友達にをもらったから付けたという、アホーガ・ホーン。割とかさばっちゃってるけど、気にしない。

he said he loved our workshop and would come back :)

「お前の工場気に入った、また来るからな！」と言ってアホーガ・ホーン鳴らしまくって帰っていった。うーん、本物。

less than two weeks left before the speedweek...

ok, the spike, the knuckle. shinya has been re-examining the ignition system.

ボンネビル・スピードウィーク出発日までに、密かに2週間を切りました。 ということで、今回点火系を徹底的に見直すことにした木村氏。

he made sleeves so that he can try thinner spark plugs.

まずは細身のスパーク・プラグが使えるように、スリーブを作りました。

a night walk in the city...

went to the city to see someone special at his gallery event.

知り合いに会いに彼のギャラリーのオープンハウスに行って来た。都会の素敵な空間。

we walked around the area for quite a long time afterwards.

気持ちの良い夜だったので、その後ギャラリー周辺を結構な時間を掛けて歩き回ってみた。

 ???

鞍馬に横たわる男。ああ、都会のセンスって難しい・・・

sooner or later we have to deliver the blue-one, so we took it to the canyon and enjoyed the moment.

随分と長い間bule-oneをチャボで預からせていただいていますが、いつかは旅立ってしまうのですから今のうちに乗り込んで思い出をたくさん作っておこう・・・という新しい言い訳を思いついて山へ。

上に行くと水墨画みたいな不思議な雲が広がっていた。

 

i overturned my SR and broke the clutch lever in half before we left the workshop...it still worked fine and i could enjoy riding.

出る前に立ちゴケしてSRのクラッチレバーが半分折れてしまったが、ちゃんと機能するし他は無事だったので山ですべてを忘れることにした。膝を小学生並みにすりむいていたことに後で気がついた。ドンマイ。

雲が何かスゴイものに変身した！

Dehen japan でデザイン、オレゴン州ポートランドの Dehen　にて制作していただいたキャノンボール用の出来立てホヤホヤのチームセーターが届きました！Dehenのセーターは生涯着続けることが出来るセーターとして、1920年の創業以来今でも多くの人々に根強く愛され続けているのです。

they made one for me, too! (and of course for niimie) mine has solid sleeves to make it easier to differentiate from riders. LOVE IT!! thank you, team Dehen and team Dehen Japan!!

そして・・・私にまでクルー用のセーターを作ってくださいました。もちろんN美氏にも！クルーとライダーの区別が一目で付くよう、ライダーの袖は縞々、クルーの袖はソリッドにデザインしてくださいました。最高です！デザイナーのMエダ氏、そしてディーエン・ジャパンの皆さま、ポートランドのディーエンの皆さま、ありがとうございます！キャノンボール本番で着るのが楽しみです！
