夏、スペインからフランスに一緒にライドした人と再会。

なぜかサルディーニャの女子に一緒に写真撮ってくださーいとモテモテの木村氏。皆カワイイ、特に右下の子！（アメリカン・チョッパーという番組に出てましたよね？と左端の子に出ていない番組名を言われたのにオーイェーとその気になっていたことは内緒。きっとバイカー・ビルドオフのことだよね。とにかく得したな。イヒヒ）

 Mr. Yamamoto took us to the spring water place nearby that he found earlier this morning.

今朝見つけたという近くの湧泉へ案内してくださるYマモト氏。変の態、または暑苦しい熱い、そして面倒臭いちょっと厄介　な男達3人衆が歩き出す。

here in Sardinia, all animals are free-roaming :)

犬や猫はもちろん、羊、ヤギ、牛、馬、この島では皆自由に歩き回って（急ぎの時は走って）いる。

all were unforgettable sight.

perhaps this unique lineup of people would never meet all together again. some yes, but not all of them together.

欧州ヤマハのチーフ・メカニックJ氏、木村氏、JvB Motoのイェンス氏、GKデザインTムラ氏、欧州ヤマハ・マーケティング部のC氏、欧州ヤマハR&DのYマモト氏、欧州ヤマハ・マーケティング部のMヤザワ氏、ロンドンのバイク・シェドのR氏。この顔ぶれが再び全員揃うことはもう二度とないだろうな。珍しいメンバーでの集合写真。こういう集合写真撮る前とか後の緩い写真を撮るのが好き。

with other mechanics. these guys had been working so hard to prepare for this event and they would continue to work until the very last day. we appreciate their efforts.

他のメカニックの皆と。彼らがずっと試乗車やその他の車両の整備・洗車をして完璧な状態にしていてくれたお陰で我々は何の心配もなく楽しく乗ることが出来た。そして、このイベントが終わるまで、それはずっと続く。本当に感謝の気持ちでいっぱい。

having a chance to spend a whole week with those two guys was golden! we learned and shared a lot from/with them and somehow felt certain that we are on the right track.

たくさんの素晴らしい出会いに恵まれている。中でもやはりこのお二人（変の態、最高峰）と1週間過ごせることは奇跡的だし大変有意義なこと。ものすごく勉強になるし刺激を受けられることが木村氏は嬉しいそう。そして、自分のやるべきことが何かを再確認したみたい。同時に同じような趣味や興味を純粋に共有できる新しい友人に出会えたという喜びも得る。贅沢な時間だなあ。

 meeting Jens means a lot too.

渋い顔してるけど、イェンスにも出会えて良かった。

shinya somehow felt that Mr.Yamamoto would never wants to sit on this bike, but he did! it was a very honorable thing and made shinya pretty happy :)

まさかプロジェクト・リーダーのYマモト氏がメヌードに跨ってくださるとは夢にも思っていなかった木村氏。この瞬間はなんとも光栄でとても嬉しかったそう。

the "super 7" custom XSR700 by Jens of JvB moto from Germany.

ドイツのJvB motoのイェンス氏がカスタムしたXSR700スーパー7。しかしMヤザワ氏ってジャンボですな。

two marketing whizz-kids of Yamaha Europe, S.M. and C.B. riding double :)　i mean, even the engineers and the designers make a great bike, the way to reach out to the consumers relies on these guys experience, new ideas and skills. it's a very valuable mission, i learned.

これからの時代を担っていくであろう欧州ヤマハ、マーケティングの風雲児SュンMヤザワ氏とCリスチャンB氏。もはや伏字にする意味が分からない・・・　しかし、エンジニアやデザイナーがどんなに素晴らしいオートバイを作っても、最初に買い手と心を通わす役割は彼らマーケティングの手腕とアイディアにかかっている部分が大きいのかもしれない、と今回学んだ。尊い仕事だ。

riding through the Grroppu canyon...

the brand new XSR700's are ready to roll! "i will be stoked if they are all designed or made by me!" shinya said. (thankful that many mechanics and test riders got here days earlier to prepare for this)

出来立てのXSR700がズラーっと並ぶ姿は圧巻。これがもし自分の作ったオートバイだったら興奮するだろうなあ、と木村氏。（数日前から欧州ヤマハのメカニックの方々やテスト・ライダーの方々が完璧な状態で皆が試乗できるように準備していた姿も忘れられない。ありがとうございます！）

the project leader Mr. Yamamoto is riding with people in group 1. he said he had a couple of chances to test ride the XSR700 before today but he was so excited to see actual people riding them in person.

プロジェクト・リーダーのYマモト氏は最初のグループで出発。開発途中に何度かテスト・ライドをされたそうですが、こうやって実際に他の人達が乗っている姿を見ながら走ることが出来ることに大変感激されていました。

shinya and i were in group 2. i was too short for this bike so shinya took off the seat, put some magazines in our laptop case and tie it with a bungee cord. it was pretty much a hard-core but usual chabott way to solve the problem but after hearing very deep behind-the-scene stories from all these engineers and designers of this XSR700 project, it was very brave of shinya to do this for protecting me from tripping over in front of these journalists. and, to protect the brand new bike, of course.

我々は第2グループで出発。木村氏はもちろんメヌードで。実は筆者はこのオートバイに乗るには足が短すぎてかなり落ち込んでいたのですが、木村氏がシートを外してノート・パソコン入れに雑誌を詰め込みバンジー紐でくくり付けるという荒業に出ました。こういうハードコアなやり方で問題解決するのはチャボでは日常茶飯事のことですが、たくさんのエンジニアの方デザイナーの方から開発時の苦労話、すべてのデザインには意味があり流れがある、というディープなお話を伺った後にはかなりの勇気のいる行動。しかし、大勢のジャーナリストの前で筆者が立ちゴケしないためにも、そして何よりこの新しいXSR700を守るためにも、これはもう必須ということで、本当に申し訳ありませんでした。

found the designer of the XSR700, Mr. Tamura of GK design europe in a diffrent group having fun at the break point. i guess it was his first time to test ride the completed XSR700.

休憩ポイントで別のグループで出発したGKデザイン・ヨーロッパのTムラ氏を発見！Tムラ氏は完成車に乗るのは今日が初めてだそうで、かなり楽しそう。たぶん別のモデルを乗り比べているところ。

the weather was not so perfect and Mediterranean Sea was in dark green but still it was beautiful.

お天気はパーフェクトではなかったし青いはずの地中海も深緑色だったけれど、それでもやっぱり美しかったなあ。

i've never seen this many exact same bikes at one time.

一度に同じ種類のオートバイをこんなにたくさん見たの初めてかもしれない。

本日のスプリント・レースでの優勝者には木村氏がアズサでゴニョゴニョ作っていた盾が贈られました。めでたし。この方、本当に速かった！
