友人が新しく始めたラ・カレッテラ・ショウというイベントがダウンタウンLAであるというので、B級グルメ王と一緒にツーリングがてら来てみた。木村氏は王様で。

 and i took shinya's SR400. 

筆者は木村氏の「SR40周年勝手に祝っちゃおうプロジェクト第1弾」のSR400で。

our friend SY and his wife took the Triumph chopper.

B級グルメ王は奥さまとトライアンフのチョッパーで。

the show was based on the spirit of the 1950s La Carrera Panamericana in Mexico and it featured cars from the '50s, as well as the '60s and '70s. the venue was filled with colorful vintage road racing spirit, great people, great music and great food under the pleasant weather. everything blended well with the downtown LA graffiti mural but at the same time, it made a pretty unique atmosphere that we felt like we were somewhere in a foreign country.

このショーのテーマは1950年代のメキシコ、ラ・カレラ・パンアメリカーナ。集まった乗り物は50年代、60年代、70年代から贈り物、色とりどりのヴィンテージカーやレースカー達。ダウンタウンのグラフィティと妙にマッチして、陽気な音楽とメローな時間が流れる中、いったいどこにいるのか分からなくなる。乗り物も雰囲気も人々もとっても好きなタイプの集まりだった。

The Machine. honor to see Julian's vintage Triumph, Terry Triumph, in person. this one and Julian have completed Mexican 1000 just recently. we could feel the vibe just looking at it.

見たかったJのトライアンフ。Jは4月にこれでメキシカン1000に出場、見事完走した。古いトラで完走したのはマルコム・スミス以来なんだって。こういうのって見ているだけで何かをピリピリ感じることができる。
