Car Classic 2017...

yes. this year's Car Classic at Art Design Center in Pasadena was all about red, white, and blue to celebrate Italian, American and French design.

毎年楽しみにしているパサデナのアート・センター主催のCar Classic。今年はイタリアン・アメリカン・フレンチのデザインを称えるというのがテーマで赤（イタリア）、青（フランス）、白（アメリカ）で色分けされていた。

ちゃんとテーマ通り赤・白・青くくりになっている。気がつけばイタリアとフランスに気を取られて白の写真をまったく撮っていなかった。

when the owner of the Morbidelli saw shinya drool in front of the bike, he took out and showed shinya a plastic model of the bike.

上のグランプリ・レーサーの前で興奮しながらずーーっと観ている木村氏を見たオーナーが、「いいもの見せてやるよ」と取り出したのは同種のプラモデル。どちらも見た感じは立派なオトナですが、小学生同士のような振る舞い。

そして、イタリアン・ハーレーということでアエルマッキ「イル・ドラーゴ」をおまけのオートバイコーナーに置かせてもらったのであった。

写真には写ってないけど、自走で帰っていくクルマ達を出口で出待ちして動かない木村氏。いつまでもハートは小学生。オーイエイ。

フランスからカリフォルニアに遊びに来ているMとガールフレンドがチャボに寄ってくれました。

they got a rental harley-davidson and said they were going to ride up to san fran. perfect to ride in this summerly weather.

このレンタル・ハーレーでサンフランシスコまで行くそうです。真夏のような南カリフォルニアのお天気に驚いていました。ここ数日またまた暑めのアズサ、本当にオートバイに乗るには最高ですが、11月を一向に感じられないので、カレンダーを見る度に「え！もう11月じゃないか！」と驚いてしまいます。

OK, r u ready? here are some unpredictable auto makers...at least for me...

citroën, alfa romeo, lamborghini, fiat...those are something that we can come up with when we hear french and italian cars...

シトロエン、アルファロメオ、ランボルギーニ、フィアット。フランス車、イタリア車、と聞いて普通はこの辺を大体想像しますよね。でも世の中にはまだまだ知らないクルマがたーーーっくさんあるざんすよ。びっくりしたざんすよ。

shinya knew this one but i didn't.

あ！ランチャ・フルビアだ！とかなり離れたところから認識できた木村氏のように、子供の頃から外国のクルマが好きだった人なら、この辺は普通に分かるのか。私は全く分からなかった。

shinya told me that he saw those lancia fulvias in books when he was in junior high. back then he thought he'd never gonna see those in person especially zagato one. he got super excited and punched on my arm when he found this!

ランチャ・フルビア・スポーツ・ザガートだ！ザガートだよ、ザガートォォォと半ば叫ぶ木村氏。これは木村少年が中学生の頃、本や雑誌で見ていたものなんですって。いつか本物を見る日がくるなどとは微塵も思っていなかったそうです。大興奮でございます。よかったね！

shinya said "oh, i know this, i know this, very luxurious car!" for at least 5 minutes but couldn't come up with the name. i've never seen this before. french.

「あ、アレだよ、アレ。フランスの高級車なんだよ、アレ。」木村氏もここまでくるとついに名前がパッとは浮かばなかったようです。大変珍しいことです。ファセルのベガでございます。

 the berlinetta willys interlagos 

this willys was licenced by alpine, a french manufacture of racing and sports car, and built in brazil.　shinya's friend and exotic car and motorcycle collector M taught shinya about it and shinya realized willys and alpine but he has never known about this alpine brazillian willys.

フランスのレース/スポーツカー製作会社アルピンがwillysの認可を受けてブラジルで作られていたwillys overland interlagoというものらしい。 ここまでくると知っている人はそんなにいないのではないか。木村氏も会場にいた知り合いのエギゾチックカーやバイクのコレクターのMに説明を受けて、willysとかアルピンとかは分かるけど、こんなクルマが存在しているなんて知る由もない、と若干気落ちしていた。

フランスの自動車製造会社、タルボット　ラゴ。これは50年代にフォーミュラ・ワンで活躍したラゴをベースにしたクルマらしいけど、あまり詳しくは分からないや。さすがの木村氏もお手上げだった。
