oh, shinya. he went through a dumpster and found some kind of auto parts. he didn't care what it was. all he cared about was those high quality fittings... yep, that's what he did on new year's day.

もう手に負えない。新年は近所の大きなゴミ箱あさりから。あさり初め。なんだか分からないけど車のパーツらしきものを拾って戻って来た。大漁～♪と歌いながら。本人も何だか分からないらしい。しかしそんなことはどうでもいい、お目当ては留め具なんだから。上質なものがたくさん付いているんだって。

no, no, we didn't come here to hop around antique stores. we came here to pick this Moto Guzzi basket case and some extra parts for the next project. (we brought the XR185 just in case we find some trail to ride around...)

いやいや、アンティーク屋巡りに来た訳ではない。このガラクタじゃなくて次のプロジェクト用のモト・グズィのバスケットケースとおまけ色々をピックアップに来たのである。（一応途中で遊べるトレイルがあるかもしれないので、筆者のホンダXR185も積んである。）

around noon shinya stopped and said to me that he found something on C-list and wanted to pick it up in the late afternoon. ah, i see.

お昼頃になると急に手をとめて、実は個人売買サイトでとても役に立ちそうなものを見つけたので夕方見に行こうと思っている、誰か一緒に行かないかなーというようなことを大きめの声でつぶやく。やっぱり！

he found this YZ80 rolling chassis with all the exteriors that he already put on his YZ80 that he found a couple weeks ago. i guess he just wanted these cosmetic parts...

え、何これ？デ・ジャヴ事件？見つけたというのはこのYZ80のローリング・シャーシなんだけど、まあまあきれいな外装が付いていて（すでにその外装をちょっと前に手に入れたYZ80に載せているので訳がわからないけど）その外装欲しさに目がくらんだらしい。（エンジンなしなので破格だったというのもあるけど）

okay, i don't know which one is which anymore. i thought he was gonna transfer just the exteriors from one to another but now i see the motor is out. 

はい、もうどっちがどっちか分かりません。「こっちの外装を外してあっちに付ければ一台コンプリートが出来上がる」と言っていたはずなのに、なぜかエンジンが降りているという現実。

as long as he's happy i'm ok with that😉

なんだか楽しそうなので、よくは分からないけど良かったね。

if it makes him this happy and boost his motivation for work, we can say that this is a great hobby 😸

これがこんなに楽しくてしかも仕事のモチベーションまで上がるというのなら、たいへん素晴らしい趣味だと言えましょう。

Golden Days Carnival, the annual october event in Azusa. i just have a strange affection for it and every year, i just go there, walk around and see people screaming.

毎年10月にあるアズサのカーニバル。かなり雑でゆる～い感じだけど、毎年観覧車が見えると吸い込まれるように行っちゃう不思議空間。乗り物に乗るわけでもなく、ただ歩いて人々が叫んでいるのを見て帰る。ネクラかっ！って話。

 love this handmade feeling.

この手作り感満載なところが気になるポイント。

毎年恒例のLAロードスター・ショウ。と言っても、お目当てはスワップミート。すでにカートが箱、箱、箱の山。

shinya always checks out the Garden Railroad whenever we come here.

いつもここに来ると必ずミニチュアトレインに見入る木村氏。
