we had been keeping this twin-cam "Kiriya" for the owner for almost 5 years after it was done. and finally we're going to deliver it. so shinya is taking it for the last test ride.

完成してからもう5年になるかも。ずっとお預かりしていたツインカム「Kiriya」、いよいよ納車の日が決まった。最後のテスト・ライドへ。

Spike! hearing it roar for the first time in a while.

久々にエンジンが掛かったスパイク。

shinya was a little relieved to hear the sound of the Spike and went out to get a wheel that he found on C-list ;D

スパイクのエンジンが掛かったことで少し安心した木村氏。突如、個人売買で見つけた何かをゲットンしに出掛ける。そして、ウィールを首から下げて戻って来た。

it's a wheel for his personal GS1000 (lifetime) project. he already got one but it's always nice to have choices, right? :P

ご自分のGS1000生涯プロジェクト用のウィールらしい。ひとつ持っているんだけど、どっちがいいかなあって迷いたいらしい・・・

さて、久々12番。近所のおじさんWタナベ氏のランド・スピード・レーシング・プロジェクトの現在。

going to update the whole suspension system. 

足回りを全部アップデートするらしい。

the roll cage. beautifully done!

ロール・ケージ。なかなか芸術的な仕上がり。

 back to the Spike. shinya still has tons of minor things to do before the race.

さて、スパイク。まだまだレースの前にやらねばならないことが山積みらしい。

test riding Kiriya, the twin-cam. shinya says it makes him feel different. it almost changes his personality when he rides it, something that he can never get when he rides his Hondas, Yamahas, Triumph, BSA, or even his Sporty or knuck. he says he becomes a fictional big-boned character with big muscles who can destroy anything :D

ツインカムをテストライドしに出かけて戻ってくると、別人格になっている木村氏。ホンダやヤマハ、トライアンフやBSA、ご自分のスポーティでもナッコーでも得られない、何か別の感覚に包まれるらしい。架空のキャラクターになって筋肉や骨も太くなった気がするんだって。

my pre-unit project. every time i climb onto it, seat moves because it was just sitting on it. by the merest chance, shinya said he would "install" it so that i can sit on it and dream up ideas :D

筆者のプリ・ユニット。ただ上に置いてあったシート、跨るたびにずれるシート。突然「ちゃんと取り付けてあげるよ！」と。なんか嬉しい。ありがたや。

夜、友人の元プロスケーターでアーティストのGPがダウンタウンLAのart walkでアートショウをやるというので観に行って来た。

The Machine. honor to see Julian's vintage Triumph, Terry Triumph, in person. this one and Julian have completed Mexican 1000 just recently. we could feel the vibe just looking at it.

見たかったJのトライアンフ。Jは4月にこれでメキシカン1000に出場、見事完走した。古いトラで完走したのはマルコム・スミス以来なんだって。こういうのって見ているだけで何かをピリピリ感じることができる。
