came to the dry lake for a trail ride with goodfellas.

ちょっとレアなメンバーでトレイル遊びしにドライレイクに来た。

we had so much fun. maybe too much fun...

楽しすぎる・・・

再びドライ・レイクに戻って来ちゃった。

this time with Kiyo and Kat of Kiyo's Garage ♥

今回はKiyo's GarageのKヨ氏とKットさんと新年会オン・ザ・レイク、という名目で。

we rode ourselves into the ground 😸 and that's why i couldn't take much photos... anyway, we had such a great time with great peeps in the dirt.

へとへとになるまで乗って遊んだ。ほとんどそれぞれが勝手に乗り回していたんだけど、（それで写真がぜんぜんない）なぜか楽しい黒猫ライダース😸　新たなる目標に向かって今年も楽しむぞ！

6:58 AM on the dry lake. because of a thick cloud clocked out the sunrise, it was crispy cold out there. 

今年最後の日は早起きして日の出前にドライ・レイクへ。雲が低くて太陽が中々出てこない。空気がきーんと冷たい。

2017 was exciting and fun year for us, racing, riding, spending quality time with great people. but we were tormented by some deep sorrow at the same time because we lost very important people in our lives. so we decided to wrap up our 2017 having fun riding on the lake bed with them in our hearts 😊 and getting ready to welcome the new year with calm and serene minds in the nature. 

thank you for your support, checking this desultory blog occasionally. much peace, love and joy to you all in 2018.

2017年、一緒にレースにのめり込んだり、純粋に思いっきり遊べる仲間との絆が深まったとてもエキサイティングで楽しい1年だった。特別な出会いもあった。と同時に、我々の人生に多大なる影響を与えてくれた大切な2人の友を失い、深い悲しみに打ちひしがれた年でもある。そんな1年の最後の日は大好きなこの場所で、先に旅立ってしまったすべての愛する人たちと一緒にオートバイに乗って楽しもう。そして、大自然の中で心穏やかに新しい年を迎える準備をしよう。

今でもこの遅れがちな🐢マイペースブログを覗いてくださっている皆さま（がいらっしゃるとしたら）、本当にありがとうございます。これからものんびりですが続けていくつもりですので、お時間がある時たま～に覗いていただけたら嬉しいです。2018年も素晴らしい年になりますよう。良いお年をお迎えください。

caught in a doodlebug's pit...

had to pick up some parts from a person located in a desert area so we decided to take our small bikes with us and ride in the nature but ended up digging holes in the sandy wash to rescue our van before we unload the bikes 😭

砂漠地帯に住んでいる人のところにパーツを取りに行くことになったので、ついでに砂漠で遊んで帰ろうということになって張り切ってオートバイ積んできたはいいけど、遊ぶ前にチャボバンが砂に埋まっちゃった。では、まずは救助活動から。掘る。

ひたすら掘る。掘って石を敷きつめる。

back up a little bit. dig. put some rocks. and repeat. at one point we almost gave up but we kept on and finally got out from THIS bed of quick sand but there were another one or two ahead of us. so we just careened through and somehow made it to the hard surface area. strangely enough, it was fun after all😸 then, we enjoyed a gorgeous trail ride in the sand afterwards. 

ちょっとさがっては、再び掘る。石、敷きつめる。繰り返す。無理かもしれないと一瞬思うほどどんどん埋まっちゃたりもしたけど、諦めずに掘っては石、掘っては石、でこの砂地獄からなんとか脱出。でもその後もずっと砂地獄を進むしかなくて、猛スピードで大爆走するという作戦でどうにか自力で抜け出した。誰も居ない砂漠で自分たちだけでものすごく盛り上がって、結局楽しかった。懲りずにこの後オートバイで遊んで帰った。

チャボに戻る。こちらは棚からぼた餅びわ号のフロント・ウィール。

shinya told me to use things that we have at the workshop as much as possible to complete this project. but he got me a pair of new boots!

チャボにあるものだけで仕上げるというのがテーマのこのプロジェクト。だけど、ブーツだけ新品付けても良いって。謎だけどうれしい⤴

classic flat track day...

today is Classic Flat Track Day at Walt James Stadium at Willow Springs Raceway(3/8 mile banked). when i said that i was going to participate, shinya said "ok, you go, have fun!" (since he doesn't race flat track) but when he found out that i was going with Kiyo and Kat (Kiyo's Garage), he suddenly changed his mind and said "i can come and help you guys"... yeah, right 😁

本日はウィロー・スプリングス・レースウェイにあるウォルト・ジェイムス・スタジアムというフラット・トラック場で（3/8マイル、バンク付）走行会があるというので参加。筆者が「練習行って来る」と言ったら「へー行ってらっしゃい」と無関心だった木村氏、Kiyo's GarageのKヨ氏とKットさんも行くと聞いたら急に「みんなの手伝いで行こうかな」だって。明日どーするー？？と楽しそうに計画立ててるの見て行きたくなっちゃったみたい。プププ　ということで久々にチーム黒猫ライダースが集まった。

楽しそうなことならなんでも挑戦するし、なんでも乗るこのお二人。かなり気が合う。おかげで今年は新しいことにチャレンジできた。24時間耐久レースとか・・・

Kットさんも初めてなのに全然怖くないらしい。ビュンビュン。筆者は最初土の上が怖くてビクビクだったのに。

riding on Mars...

today is a trail ride day with our favorite people.

大好きなみんなとトレイル遊びをしに火星砂漠に来た。

although we were gonna ride in the desert trail, Go (Brat Style) brought his Indian Sportscout :D  met this gentleman who was riding his motorcycle and stopped by when he saw us. 

砂漠でトレイル遊びだって言ってるのにインディアンを持ってくるGTカミネ氏。通りすがりのモーターサイクリストの紳士が我々のオートバイ・ラインナップを見てやけに興奮して話しかけてきた。

we brought three Hondas. this XR200R that shinya recently finished is for Cheetah. 

チャボからはホンダ3台。こちらは最近仕上げたXR200R、チーター用。そして感極まった紳士なライダーに抱擁を求められるチーター:P

M, manager of Brat Style Tokyo, who was visiting Go and Masumi was on Brat Style SR500.

アメリカに出張中のブラット・スタイル・東京の店長、Mエダ氏はもちろんブラット・スタイルSR500で。一年越しで念願の火星ライド、いちばんはしゃいでいた。

we had so much fun riding around the desert, got lost a bit (had no chance to take any photos) and came back to the staging area. now boys wanted to have a mini race and started to practice.

迷子になりながらもトレイルを堪能（筆者は必死すぎて余裕がなく、トレイル中の写真は一枚も撮れなかった）、ステージング・エリアに戻るとミニ・レースをしようと練習が始まる。なんだか本気。

XR100R got a flat rear tyre. 

XR100Rのリアタイヤがパンク。

it was still ridable. so the race has started ↓

パンクでも走れる。ってことでミニレースがスタート ↓

shinya picked XL100, the most advantageous machine for this race, Go had to ride the XR100R with flat tyre, Cheetah had to take the slippery XR185/200 and the SR500 for M. shinya won, of course 😃 what a fixed race 😁

もっとも有利なXL100をチーターから取り上げ、チーターにはノビータイヤを履いていないので滑りまくりのXR185/200を割り当て、Tカミネ氏にはパンクしたままのXR100R、Mエダ氏はSR500、勝ちに走る大人気ない木村氏。３周というルールも無視して走り続けまんまと優勝。初代「スラッシュXさん」という称号をゲット。

it got over 100°F so we headed back.

あっという間に気温が38°C超えの砂漠。ということで火星を退散。

朝から夜までみんなで大騒ぎ。楽しかった！
