ストリート・タイヤからレーシング・タイヤに換えるWタナベ氏。
our neighbor father and son have arrived at the tach on their '58 chevy brookwood wagon. this will be their first experience to participate in drags. pretty exciting!
近所の友達親子が1958年式シェヴィ、ブルックウッドのワゴンで車検場に到着。結局心配していた「親」を「子」が強引に誘ったらしい。こんなにレース場の近くにいるのに初参戦な親子。
now they get in a starting line.
いよいよスターティングの列に並ぶ。
it's a full house!
「子」と木村氏がエルカミーノの荷台に乗っていると・・・

this one is a regular at Irwindale drag strip, very fast "omni".
ここの常連、普通を装ってとーっても速い珍車、オムニ。

he beat the civic but the el camino sounded like it wasn't in a best condition...
シピックをぶっちぎりましたが、どうもいつもの調子じゃないみたい。どうしたのかな。

観るだけと言っていた「親」が助手席に乗っている！

ちょいと出遅れ。初めてだから仕方ない。
Wata came back with a glum face. oh, no!
浮かない顔で戻って来たWタナベ氏。
senior and junior came back in a chipper mood.
友達親子はご機嫌で戻って来た。
Wata said something was not right so he decided to call it a day before he brake it on a full scale.
どうも何かがおかしいらしい。無理して本格的に壊す前に今日はこれで切り上げることに。あばよ！
still we all had a great time :)
エルカミーノは残念だけど、それでもこのレースの雰囲気はやっぱり楽しい。
