I was here in town so he stopped by our workshop with his dad. I builds custom bicycle frames by hand in boston.

ボストンでハンドメイドの自転車のカスタムフレームを作っているIが、カリフォルニアに住んでいるお父さんと一緒にチャボに来てくれた。

 this was his first one when he started. "it's not so good," he said but we knew this meant a lot to him. and he gave it to shinya. we are very lucky to meet someone like him, doing something he loves with passion. I, thank you for coming and hope to see you again soon. keep up the great work!

これは一番最初に彼がフレーム作りを始めた時の第一号。「すごい下手くそだけど・・・」と言っていたけど、本人にとってとても意味のある大切なものだと思う。それを木村氏にくれた。自分の好きなことを精一杯やっている彼は、これからもずっと成長し続けていくんだと思う。だから、この第一号、チャボで大切に預かっておきます。いつかまた、最初の一号を見たくなったらいつでも言ってね、ありがとう。

shinya has been receiving these small packets of those small　parts for his bicycle almost everyday for last a week or so.　for some reason, the part he wants the most has not arrived yet...he's on tenterhooks...hehe

最近毎日このような小さい荷物が届くのをソワソワして待ってらっしゃいます。　しかし・・・最も待ちに待ってるブツがまだ届かない・・・ヤキモキ中なお姿を見てほくそえんで・・・いるわけないよ、もう自転車改造道まっしぐらだよ！

perseverance wins in the end. really? at our fave thursday mexican swap meet, the old road racer was still there.

古タイヤの山からこのロードレーサーのオリジナルタイヤ＆ウィールを見つけ出し、今ついてる状態の良いタイヤと換えてもえぇからディスカウントしてーな、な、おっさん（多分年下）と・・・言ってみるもんですな。もうめんどくさくなっちゃったんだね、考えられない値段で手放しちゃったよ、メッヒコおじさん。これ、全部昔のカンパニョーロのパーツがついてるの、本当に良いものらしいよ。5週間に渡る戦いも幕を閉じましたとさ。

at swap meet last week

forget about tires and the coloring but it has mostly 70's campagnolo parts and some cinelli parts, shinya said excitedly. why? because he used be in the cycle-race team when he was in high school.
