an old station and citrus growers...

whenever we pass by this old RR station, now museum, it's closed. but today we were just walking around the old town san dimas and strolled in to the building.

there were many original equipments, some replica, and the original desk in an original layout. they used to have a window on the right wall, too, so that the station agent could see both side of the railroad. the original station was burned down in 1933 and this one was one built after. the station had closed down in 1967 then they did wall up the window to make a closet... the old man at the museum gave us a tour and explained everything to us.

 got some souvenirs :)

If you enjoy trains, you should visit the California Railroad Museum in Sacramento if you've never been.
One of my fondest memories is of traveling by steam locomotive powered trains in Japan about 1958-59 when my Air Force father was stationed overseas. As we came along a siding, he had told us ahead of time to be ready to see something really special. He said we'd be seeing the future of rail transport.Sitting there looking like something from the future, was the first Bullet train. That is one memory of living in Japan I'll never forget.
