white mountains...

we always spent our time in the mountains around this time of the year. they're there quietly as always and they welcomes us as always even if the human world is a bit clamorous. had much needed significant rain in the last couple of days (but it triggered mudslides in barren areas charred from this year's multiple wildfire...), we see some snow at higher elevations. 

毎年この時期になると必ず山で時間を過ごす。世間がワサワサウキウキしていても、山はいつもと変わらず静かだから。ここ数日干ばつのカリフォルニアに恵みの雨が降り、あっという間に山の上の方が白くなった。（山火事のあったところは雨が降ると土砂崩れの被害があって大変なんだけれど）

少し下の方の山には雪は降らなかった。

how lucky we are! very grateful to be able to live near these mountains.
