Hi Ayu,

on the first picture, it is not a Csepel, it is a Pannonia T5 White.
This bike was made only for export to California. Pannonia was the name of hungarian bikes after Csepel from the same factory. It was maybe the most expensive Pannonia after the Pannonia Trial. That was a real beauty scrambler. My grandfather had a Pannonia T5 (nt the white), it is in our garage. I will send you photos about that.
Cheers
Peter

Hi there,

May I make a little correction.

The correct name of this model is "White 250cc Super Sports".

Although this model has a close relationship with the Pannonia T5 (made in the same factory, and lot of the parts are identical of the T5's), it is definitely not a "Pannonia T5 White".

Instead, the White 250cc motorcycles (except for the "Tornado", the Cross) were based on the Pannonia T8 and T9 export versions (like this one on the photo is based the T9), with some alterations, requested by Mr. White, who was the sole importeaur of the White motorcycles in the USA (while some other companies imported the Pannonia models).

The tank badge is different from the Pannonias', it was designed by Mr. White himself, and the VIN plates of these White motorcycles also clearly state the model name (as I wrote above, but neither "Pannonia", nor "T5" is there).

If you are interested, I can have some more details on the story of the White motorcycles, as been digging into the topic since a few years already, also having several original White motorcycles in my possession. I also met Mr. White in person, and he told lot of interesting details from those times.

With that, and my Greetings from Budapest

Dear ApaE

yes it is right. i read a bit more about the story so that is not a simple T5. I'm really interested about this story because i don't find too much on the web about it, and my big Pannonia book is at my fathers house.

Thanks
Peter from near to Budapest :)

I bought this 250 white supersport motorcycle and was wondering if anyone new the fuel mixture.

bervas said...

Original oil to fuel ratio: 1 litre to 25 litres.

With modern two stroke oil (API TC or JASO FC grade): 1 litre to 40 litres.

Hi Rich,

The correct fuel mixture for your bike is 1:25 which means you have to blend 1 liter of two-stroke motoroil to 25 liters of gasoline.
