gotta enjoy the fruits of last night's work...

shinya was trying to leave me behind but no way! XL100 vs. SR500...

 666...9! close!

何かおしい、666・・・9。

he said it was ok but not getting THE one yet. oh, well.

まあ、普通ならよしとするところだけどねーこれだっ!ってのがあるんだけど、まだなんだよねー、と木村氏。ふーん。じゃ、また明日も山でテストすればいいよ。

Just curious what altitude your canyon rides achieve versus your starting altitude. Years ago I was working at Lake Tahoe. About halfway up the mountains from the Sacramento valley I'd pull over and change to smaller main jets and one size hotter plugs on my '69 CL-175 K3. The bike would run perfect at Tahoe. Of course coming back I'd have to remember to change back or burn the bike up!

Through the power of 'google', I've come to find your shop is around 610 above sea level, and that some of your rides take you above 6,000. This time of year, you definitely better pack some warm clothes...

Hairy Larry: hahaha we usually go all the way up to around 6,000 but with XL, we just go up to around 2,000 or less. but yes, the altitude is a huge matter especially when we are racing at salt flats and dry lake. for XL i think shinya was just trying to adjust for a street ride. we just made up an excuse to go for a ride in canyon :) btw, working at lake tahoe?!

Worked at Meeks Bay Resort on the California side of the lake in the early 70's. Back then a company had bought it from the original owners that went way back to the turn of the century. They had plans to turn it into a really ugly Condo development. When I worked there it was little changed from the old days...just a really cool old resort. Eventually the State took it over, but unfortunately a lot of the old buildings were torn down. I think it is now owned?...run by an Indian tribe. It is a beautiful little bay on the lake...been thinking about camping there sometime..maybe this summer. Worked there for several summers right out of High School. Lot's of good memories. Rode my little Honda 175 all over up there. I looked up Crystal Lake on the web and found a site with lots of cool old pics taken by a woman who worked up there long ago. I'd like to go there some day and check it out.
