at #12. Irwindale drag strip is now open on saturday nights so Wata was getting ready for the race. he was encouraging his neighbor friend "Jr." to participate with the 1958 chevey brookwood wagon that they got. and "Jr." was disposed to the idea and started to get ready for the race, too.
さて、12番。近くのドラッグ・レース場が木曜だけじゃなく土曜日も草ドラッグ・レースを始めたというので準備万端のWタナベ氏。近所の友達親子の”子”の方に、いつも乗り回している59年式のシェヴィーのワゴンで走ってみなよ、と勧めたらその気になってしまった”子”。ちなみに”親”の方はやや心配している様子。しかし、着々と準備を始める”子”とそれを手伝うWタナベ氏。
it seemed like they needed a little more time so we decided to go for a ride before we head to the drag strip.
彼らはもう少し時間が掛かりそうなので、我々はレース場に向かう前に山をひとっ走りしてから行くことに。
