automobile desinger mr.OS, his son T and automobile modeler mr.NS whom we met at the art center in pasadena last sunday stopped by. mr.OS started his career at toyota, then chrysler and now he's the design manager at hyndai. he desinged the 2000 dodge concept viper GTS-R and was responsible for the second generation production viper. mr. NS started his career at nissan and now he's the chief modeler at kia design center. we enjoyed so much to hear lots of side stories from them that we lost track of time :)
先日パサデナのアートセンターでお会いした自動車のデザイナーOS氏と息子さんのTS氏、それから自動車のモデラーNS氏がチャボを訪ねてくださいました。OS氏はトヨタを経てクライスラーで2000年のコンセプトdodge viper GTS-Rやセカンド・ジェネレーションの市販車viperのデザインを手掛け、現在はhyundaiでデザインを担当されている、という凄い方なんです。モデラーのNS氏は日産を経て現在はkiaでチーフ・モデラーをなさっている、というこれまた凄い方なんです。お二人とも少しもそんな凄さは語らず、色々とデザインでご苦労なさった点や秘話・逸話などを面白おかしく話してくださって、時間を忘れて楽しんでしまいました。とにかく本当にクルマが好きという情熱に満ちてらして、そういう方々が現在のコスト重視のデザインに立ち向かっていらっしゃるのだと知って嬉しく心強くも感じました。是非またゆっくりとお話しを伺いたいと思います。
さて、ずっと見つめていたヘルメットにとうとうマスキングを始めた木村氏。締切間近！
