speedweek 2017 day 6...

and SpeedWeek day 6 has started.

いよいよスピードウィーク6日目。

Great morning again. Wata and Bucho are still on the way. shinya continues to figure out what was wrong with the Spike.

本日も気持ちの良い朝。Wタナベ氏とBチョーは只今こちらに向かい中。木村氏は引き続き昨日調子の悪かったスパイクと向かい合う。

and found out that a big chunk of salt entered into the engine combustion chamber and made the piston ring bind... bummer

結果、燃焼室に塩の塊が入り込みピストンリングが固着していたことが発覚・・・ガクブル

and of course he would do what he could do to get going.

せっかくだから出来るだけのことはやろう。そしてなんとかもう1本だけでも走れたら。

なんとかスタートの列に復活。

rookie course (2 miles) and short course (3 miles) were already cleared up and only long course (5 miles) were available. usually the long course is only for vehicles that have official record of 175+ mph. our class record now is 150 something so we thought we never gonna have a chance to ride on the long course. but they let us use the long course today and tomorrow. only 3 miles of it but still...

しかもすでにルーキー・コース（3.2km）とショート・コース（4.8km）は片付けられてしまっていて、ロング・コース（8km）のみで走れるらしい。通常ロング・コースというのは公式に175マイル（280km）以上を出したマスィンだけしか走れない。ナッコーで8km全開なんて考えられないし、木村氏のクラスのレコードだって280km以下なんだから一生縁がないと思っていたコース。夢のロング。憧れのロング。このように、「この列は300マイル以上（480km以上）のマスィンしか並べません」などという見たこともないような数字が書かれた看板があったり、未知の世界。そこで走れるなんて最後まで粘ったご褒美かも。もちろん8km走れるわけじゃなく、8kmのうちの4.8kmをどうぞ、ということらしい。

and blew the motor... fortunately it didn't lock and shinya was OK. it was sad but shinya said he enjoyed the whole week. so it's all good. 

そしてスパイクのエンジンぶっ壊れて終了。チーン　でも、ロックしなかったし木村氏は無事だったしぶっ壊れるまでレースできたし・・・気分は爽快！

Wata and the crew chief Bucho are back on the salt!! we are going to devote ourselves as his crew now.

Wタナベ氏とクルー・チーフのBチョーが戻って来た！！ひと足先に終了してしまった木村氏はWタナベ氏のクルーに徹することにする。

ショート・コースの人は3マイルしか行っちゃだめなのに、3マイル越えちゃったWタナベ氏はコース・パトロールにひどく叱られて凹んでいた。ドンマイ

couldn't get to 4th so Wata will make some changes and try one more time tomorrow.

4速に入らなかったみたい。何か対策をして、明日（最終日）最後に１本走るというWタナベ氏に全員付き合うことに。

super crew chief Bucho is finally having a brief free time :D

このクルー・チーフなくしてWタナベ氏のスピード・ウィークは成り立たなかったと思う。アメリカに到着してから今日まで一切自分の時間もなく淡々とクルーに徹していたけど、一度もネガティブなこと言ってるの聞かなかった。最終日前日の今日、やっと少しだけ気が楽になったのかも。そして初めての自由時間、塩の上をSRで疾走！最高のクルー・チーフ。ありがとうとしか言いようがない。
