ポモナのスワップミートにて。ホワイト。ハンガリーでアメリカ輸出用に作っていたバイクらしいけど、初めて見た。

 niimie found a honda sport cub in mint condition. he rides and collects honda cubs in japan.

N美氏の大好物、カブみーつけた。しかもスポーツ・カブと言って別格なカブなんだって。どーする？

after a five-hour walking, we found troubled truck at the parking lot. all guys tried to push them.

5時間以上歩きに歩いて足が棒っきれになってパーキングに戻ると、押し掛けしようとしているトラックが。男子全員で押す。

そしてまさかのリバース押し掛け・・・

so the 1915 indian engine sounded pretty strong and smooth, definitely better than last time. are we done? nope. shinya and niimie started to take out and opened the engine. why why why what's wrong? i cried. they said they were going to inspect every single top and bottom, nook and cranny, the whole motorcycle. and they laughed at me as always.　shinya had replaced the pistons but they hadn't open the bottom since they did in new mexico. remember the crankpin incident?

音から察するに何だかとってもいい感じなエンジン。前回よりもかなり力強いしスムーズ。だからって準備終了って訳ではないんだよねー。乗り終わったらさっさとバラし始める木村氏とN美氏。トップもボトムもアソコもココもぜ～んぶバラして点検するそうです。ガタがきているものも沢山あるし、締めなおしたり緩めたり作り直したり取り替えたり。ボトムは前回ニューメキシコ（魔のクランクピン・ポッキリ事件）で開けて以来触れていないし、やっぱりやることは山ほどあるある。だけど結局本当に好きだからやってるだけなんだよねー。真剣に見えるけど、ほんとはニヤけてるの、知ってるもの。楽しくて仕方がないんだよねー。

久々に日に当たるインディアン

the very first kick...

after shinya replaced the old pistons to the special ordered ROSS pistons. shinya waited for niimie to come for this special ceremony :)

木村氏が、大陸横断を果たした古いピストンからROSSのオーダーメイドピストンに替えてから初のキック。N美氏の到着を待っていよいよエンジンを掛けることに。

一発でエンジン掛かっちゃうとは！N美氏の驚いた様子がリアル。幸先がイイぞ！

hey, shinya! do you have any used spark plugs handy? well, i think it's beautiful not to waste even one old parts. you never know when something is going to come in handy. get creative with what we already have, reuse them for something different and give them back to life! the old indian and one of shinya's drawers taught me so.

ものを大切にする。古くなったものも工夫して何か別のことに役立てる。何でも簡単に捨ててしまう世に慣れてしまわないように。大切なものまで捨ててしまわないように。97歳のインディアンと古いスパーク・プラグがぎっしり入った木村氏のこの引き出しを見て、改めて思ったこと。

ブッシュ・ブラザーズのLとDからこんな本が届いた！まだまだ知らないカリフォルニアやネバダの旧い町やゴーストタウンをZap氏と一緒に写真を撮りながら旅してみたいな。考えただけで楽しそう！ありがとう、LとD兄弟！

 today was D's last day in america. shinya gave his favorite hat and jacket that he found at a thirft sotre to D. D and niimie worked with shinya for nearly 10 years when shinya was in japan. now they are all independent. very reliable fellows. irons MotorcyclE(D's)
