あ、ちなみにアロハ・ナイトって言うんで慌ててアロハを着てるんですのよ、
黄緑の中に。事前にアロハ忘れないでくださいよって念を押されたから、
全員アロハなのに自分達だけノン・アロハだったら恥ずかしい、
そう思って慌てて探したアロハ。逆のパターンだよ、誰も着てねー
え？アロハナイトなんですか？だってさ、会う人、会う人。

写真にはいないけどジェフ・デッカー氏とかジェフ・ホー氏とか、

楽しかったけど着慣れないハワインアン・ファッソンにどっと疲れたわ。

実は随分前から狙っていたのねん、このバフ・マシーン。

売ってくれと頼んだこともあるのねん。

その時は断られたというのに、いきなりくれちゃうのねん。

today, we went to get some cotton buffs.

 shinya proudly told them to make a 3/4" inter hole

on his buffs but they pooh-pooh at him 

and said "oh, you got a small one, huh?"

see their displayed machine? 1 1/2" shafts?

shinya lost his courage for a minute. hahaha

喜び勇んでバフ買いに行く、の図。

そんで買ったバフの真ん中に自分の機械のシャフトに合わせて

穴を開けてもらうのですが、結構自信満々に3/4インチ！

と申しましたら、鼻で笑う感じに「あ、小さいやつ使ってんだな、坊や」

と言われて見てみれば、見本で置いてあるこちらのマスィーンは

そうですね、1.5インチはあるでしょうねシャフト。

しばし意気消沈する木村氏でありました。フフフ

now, he's been polishing aluminum pieces 

for quite a while...having too much fun.

it may be small(no, it's not) but it got 3hp!!

先ほどからずーっとアルミの破片を磨いて遊んでますよ、

お、すげーなどと言いながら。

 小さいって言われちゃったけど、充分大きいし、3馬力もあるんだぞ！

the midnight cult movie...

midnight on saturday. shinya wanted to take a break so i brewed some coffee and we sat down at the counter. we were kinda tired and shinya just turned on the tv for a change. here it is, the ridiculous 80's creature flick called "TROLL" was on.

土曜日の夜中、ちょっと疲れたのでコーフィー・ブレーク。気分転換になにげなくテレビをつけると、80年代のへんてこ生き物系B級ホラー映画、「TROLL」がちょうど始まるところ・・・

the story is pointless in the extreme but good special effects for it's time, you know, without any computer graphics and all. and, most of all, those wired creatures were grim enough to help us staying awake...

ストーリーなんてあってないような酷いものだけど、今みたいなコンピューター・グラフィックとか無い時代にしては、かなりレベルの高い特殊効果。何より気味の悪い生き物が矢継ぎ早に登場するから、眠気覚ましにはもってこいでした。

自分の感受性をバリバリ全開にして何が格好良いかを見極めろ。誰かの上辺だけの輝きを真似たぐらいじゃ、薄っぺらな人間になるばかり。魂のない大多数に加わるくらいなら、自分の信念を貫き通せ。そんなようなことを誌面を通して勝手に感じ取ってみました。本当に何かしらの信念を持ってそれを貫いている人からは感じ取れるんだけど、上辺だけの賛同者からの又聞きとかじゃ何も感じない・・・当たり前か・・・

本日はGKデザインのオフィスのオープンハウスに行って参りました。

 
GK design in japan was established in 1952

and they started to design music instruments 

for yamaha. this is YA-1, 

the frist yamaha motorcycle that

they(GK)designed in 1955.

こちらがGKデザインが1955年に手がけたヤマハの最初のバイク

YA-1.

in 1961, they designed this well known 

kikkoman soy sause bottle and became very famous.

one of the pioneers of industrial design in japan.

この誰もが知っているお醤油瓶のデザインで一世を風靡し、

インダストリアル・デザインというものを日本に定着させた先駆者であります。

they have been designing motorcycles, snowmobiles,

quads and etc. for yamaha for over 50 years! 

not just for yamaha they design so many different things for so many different companies.

50年以上に渡ってヤマハのバイクデザインを手がけていて、

ヤマハだけでなく、様々なもののデザインを様々な企業の為に

デザインし続けている、と今日知ったばかりの
にわか知識を披露しちゃってすみません。

shinya has always liked GK design 

since he was a kid. you can easily imagine 
how excited he was tonight.

he enjoyed seeing those motorcycle sketches

through out the office, although he never draws

sketches himself for his motorcycle designs...hehe

they are even color coded.　

here comes the "ultimate level of sloppiness."

now you don't need to change each time,

all different kinds of grit discs are ready to use.

ディスク・サンダーどぇす・・・ご覧のようにすでに充分持ってますがね。

よーく見るとカラーテープで色分けまでしてありますね。

「究極のずぼら道」、でましたぁ！いちいちディスク換えんのめんどくさい、

そうです。なんという憂さ晴らしなんざんしょ。

oh, and they are color coded 
just to make it easier to haul in the lines
when you wanna unplug it. 

そうそう、色分けはコンセントから抜くとき分かりやすいように、ね。

学生時代の友達っていいものです。

 便利な世の中になったとは言え、
外国に何か送るのって結構面倒くさいもの。

だから、わざわざ送ってくださるという気持ちが最高に嬉しい！

いつも荷物が届くたびに思います。

this is my first time watching shinya struggle

which usually makes me crazy because he repeats the same song and the same phrase over and over...agh

そりゃそーだ、やったことないことにチャレンジしてるんだからさ。

でも、心配ないさ、絶対に出来るの知ってるもんね。

それにしても、いつもの口笛と鼻歌聞きたいなー
