 SR 40th anniversary project. shinya changed the rear shocks.

勝手にSR40周年記念プロジェクト。リア・ショックを換えてみる。

he did changed them but didn't really want them after all.

換えてはみたものの、「これじゃない」らしい。

rode the 1979 SR500 to Pomona antique row to get refreshed. this area getting eerily empty. it's very sad.

愛車79年式のSR500でポモナのアンティーク屋まで。もう開いてるお店2件しかないけど・・・

beginning of a new project...

along with the G5 that he picked up yesterday and the Le Mans III that he got for R&D, he's letting his mind drift over the new project.

昨日入手したグズィG5とR&D用にちょっと前に入手したル・マンIIIに囲まれて、新しいプロジェクトに思いを馳せる木村氏。

shinya's on/off switch is broken now...

took our friend K-san and his son from Japan to the canyon.

日本からいらしているKタヤマ氏と6月からアズサ市のカレッジに通われる息子さんと山へ。

since K-san's son didn't have moto license yet they had to ride double and shinya wanted to let them ride the SR500, one of the most reliable motorbikes of all we have. however,　very unusually, it acted up and they had to take the Aermacchi 350 Sprint instead. two tall guys on 350? it sounds rough, right? but they had fun after all so it was all good.

Kタヤマ氏の息子さんはまだ車もオートバイの免許も持っていないそうなので、お父さんと2ケツ。2ケツと言えばパワフルで信頼のSRをお貸ししようとしたら、珍しく発動せず。背の高い男性二人、アエルマッキ350にギュウギュウでしたが、マッキも本領発揮。グングンと上のクリスタル茶屋まで来れた。良かった！

the lunch ride. right after we came back from the canyon, shinya rechecked the SR and found out that the vacuum hose was off. dah! SR never dies! 

山から戻るとSRを再点検。負圧のホースが抜けていただけだったとは・・・やはり、SRは裏切らない。そしてそのままテストを兼ねてルンチ・ライド。SR500の素晴らしさを再確認する木村氏。

had too much fun, stopped here and there freewheelingly...

楽しすぎてついつい寄り道が多くなる。

なかなかスイッチが入らない木村氏。　今はアイディアを温める時、らしい。

project UK. instead of drawing on a piece of paper or on the computer, shinya's rough sketch is totally hands-on.

新しいプロジェクト。紙やコンピュータでスケッチを描く代わりに、こうやって実際に実物を弄繰り回しながら進んでいく。

ご自分のトライアンフを堪能した後はアグゥスタ。なんだか最近シート・カウルがしっくりこなくなってしまったらしい。

切っちゃうのか、それとも残すのか・・・

when i saw it a short while later, a tip of the seat section that continued to the fuel tank was gone. he always has the answer.

ちょっとしてから見たらやっぱり切られていた。今回はほんの先っちょだけだったけど、しっくりこない時は時間をおいてみて、それでも心がワサワサする時は切るなり作り直す。作ってぶっ壊してまた作る。

he said he couldn't help thinking about the air box so he checked it again and worked on it late at night on our return from an outing.

どうしても気になって仕方がないらしい。友人に会いに都会に出かけて戻ってから夜中にまたゴソゴソ。
