something turned shinya's cannonball switch on... he said he was not just giving a TLC to the Indian, whatever he's doing is the things he gotta do in prep for the Cannonball.

なんだか急にキャノンボールのスイッチが入っちゃったみたい。「ただ愛でてるだけじゃない、どれもこれもキャノンボールに備えてやっておかねばならないことばかりなんだから」本人談。

our neighbor T says his 1917 JD is nearly done and brought it to our workshop. he's going to participate in Cannonball for the first time.

今年初めてキャノンボールに出場する近くに住むTが、もうちょっとで完成だ！と1917年のJDを見せにやって来た。

 T wanted to shinya to try it 😊

木村氏にどうしても乗ってもらいたいんだって。

it sounds super healthy　and much more stable than our Indian.

そそくさと乗る木村氏。我々のインディアンに比べてもう全然しっかりしている。

素人が手を出したら必ず痛い目にあう、あのトライアンフのスプラング・ハブに手を出す木村氏。もちろんビワ号のためにリビルトしてくれるのだけど。

he said he had done this before...a long time ago...and so he knows how difficult it is without using that special tool. it's really a dangerous and risky business.

遠い昔に一度やったことがあるから、きっと大丈夫と言いながら。やったことがある方もしくはやろうとしたことがある方ならお分かりかもしれません。これ、ほんとキケン。良い子は絶対に真似しちゃいけません、ちゃんとこれ用の工具持っていない限り。

SR40周年勝手に祝っちゃおうプロジェクト第2弾、準備作業が始まった。

no matter how a great deal of trouble he has to go through when he really wants to do something, he would do it.

どんなに大変な思いをしようとも、どうしても⃝⃝が使いたい。そういう時はまったく面倒くさがらない。

⃝⃝とは、このスウィング・アームのこと。

always with a brand new attitude...

it some how hasn't quite hit me yet but this is the Cannonball year. it will be our 5th round challenge but it doesn't matter for shinya and Niimi. it is always a fresh challenge for them.

今回はなんだか実感がまだ沸かない、なんでだろ？しかし、今年は間違いなくキャノンボールの年。チーム80番にとっては5回目、我々の1915年インディアンも5度目の大陸横断。でも、木村氏とN美氏にとっては毎回新しいチャレンジ、しっかり準備せねば。この光景、やっぱりいいな。
