12番にご自分の車両を見に（昨夜はそのご自分のトラックで近所の草ドラッグレースに参戦）日本からいらしている獣医のKサマツ氏、日本でオートバイにも乗っていてトライアルもやっていると聞いて山へ。

上にはまだ少し雪が残っていた。

he brought us this book called "Evolution" by Jean-Baptist De Panafieu (the text is full of details and stories) with stark black-and-white photographs of skeletons by Patrick Gries. these images are so beautiful. great book that we will enjoy and treasure forever. thank you, K-san!

Kサマツ氏から素敵な本をいただいた。骨から進化の痕跡を追及したジャン=バティスト・ド・パナフィユーの解説が面白すぎる。そして骨格の白黒写真が素晴らしい。ため息が出るほど美しい。さすが獣医さんセレクト。一生楽しめる本をありがとうございました！次回は砂漠へ行きましょう！

my loquat tank became bell pepper tank...

筆者のプリ・ユニット。ビワがピーマンになった・・・

i told shinya that i liked the loquat tank better, shinya said maybe i didn't like bell pepper because it was green and started to paint it orange temporarily.

ビワの方が好きだと言ったら、きっとピーマンが緑だからそう思うんだよ、今日は桃の節句だからオレンジに塗ってあげるよ、と。え？ビワがピーマンで桃のオレンジ？もう何だか分からない・・・

むーん。

wait till tomorrow and see when the color settle. this is only temporary, though. because it has an orange frame, it was hard for me to see the whole shape with a green tank on it ;P

明日色が落ち着いたらもう一度形を見てみよう。（このだいだい色は仮です。何しろフレームがだいだい色なので緑のタンクを載せると目がチカチカして全体の雰囲気がまったく分からなくなってしまったので。）またまた一歩前進。木村氏、ありがとう！

Harley-Davidson vs. Indian...

came to "Harley versus Indian" opening reception at Petersen Automotive Museum. it's our first time after the renovation.

ピーターセン乗り物博物館にて「ハーレー対インディアン」のオープニング・レセプションに行ってみる。ここの博物館、大規模なリノヴェーションが終わってからは初めて中に入った。

we were able to see only Dan Gurney exhibit. we got to come back again to check all the exhibitions.

ダン・ガーニーの展示は観れたけど、他のは閉まっていたのでまた今度観に来よう。

and saw some of the "Precious Metal cars" in the Bruce Meyer gallery.

2階のギャラリーにあった銀色シリーズの展示も少し観れた。

外にはSBLちゃんのアエルマッキ250スプリント。これでランド・スピードに出るらしい。そらからJHのマグナム・モーター。そしてGTカミネ氏のchout。

and Kiyo brought this single knuckle. this guy is always full of extraordinary ideas and makes us exited :)

おっ、Kョナガ氏がシングル・ナッコーでやって来た。常に面白いことで頭がいっぱいなKョ氏。あとKットさんといつも仲良しなのがいい。GTカミネ氏とMスミ嬢もどんなことでも一緒に楽しんでいるところがいい。なんかこっちまで楽しくなる。

tonight, just to suite the theme of the night, we took two Harley-Davidsons. stopped in Arts Districts in downtown LA on the way back from Petersen Museum. enjoyed the night riding using no freeways 💨

今宵のイベントの趣旨に合わせて我々もハーレー二台で。帰りにダウンタウンのアーツ・ディストリクトでダラダラする。夜乗りは楽しい。特にフリーウェイを使わず、した道で寄り道しながらシュワーッと行くのが好き。

Josh of Good Art HLYWD. his 1947 knuckle caught on fire on the way here that he thought he was gonna lose his bike. but he made it! he was ok. the bike was ok. the burnt gas tank and the front tyre covered in dry chemical from fire extinguisher gave even more character to the knuck.

Good Art HLYWDのJの1947年ナッコー、来る途中で火が出てすぐに収まると思ったらどんどん大きくなって炎に包まれ、消火器2本を使って消火したらしい。たぶん迎えが必要だと思うと電話が掛かってきて急いで迎えに行こうとしたらまた電話があって、エンジンが掛かったから乗って来ると言う。彼に怪我もなく、ナッコーも無事。ダメージを受けたタンクのペイントや消火器まみれのタイヤはいい味に。ほんと、無事で良かったなあ。

さて、ここまでは来れたけど山乗りに行けるのかが問題。

 they said hell yeah!

and came back to Azusa in one piece.

そして何の問題もなく無事戻る。

今日はヴァレンタインズ・デーなので、これから奥方を喜ばせねばならない男子達は帰路に着く。
