Sepia. just remembered that it ended with a crack in the oil tank at SpeedWeek. really the course was rough. now shinya is going to fix that.

セピア。ボンネビルで最後にオイルタンクにクラックが入って終わったのを急に思い出して、修理しだす木村氏。

the best and tough part of land speed racing is we race in the middle of Mother Nature, not on a man-made track. every year, the salt and over all course conditions are different. sometimes we had powder salt and flat course and another times, pretty wet and heavy salt and rough course or even worth. but i think that's why it hold our spellbound. when we stand on the salt and see the rising sun and sunset, moon and starry night, we realize just how insignificant we are and still we are racing for the speed 😺

人工的に作られたサーキットやトラックと違って、大自然の中でレースをするというのがランド・スピード・レーシングの醍醐味のひとつだと思う。毎年塩のコンディションが違うし、それに伴ってコースのコンディションも左右される。塩がサラサラで真っ平らなコースだった時もあれば、水分を含んだ重い塩でコースに深い轍が何本もできたり、今年のように塩がガチガチでコースが凸凹だったり。でも、そういう人間の力の及ばない中でスピードを賭けたレースをするっていうのが難しいけどこれまた我々を魅了して止まないんじゃないかと思いながら毎年参加し続けている。塩の上に立ち朝日を見て太陽が沈んで空から星が降ってくるのを見ると、人間なんてほんとにちっぽけで些細なものだと感じられる。そんなちっぽけな人間達がどこからともなくレースをしに集まって来るんだから、ほんと面白い。

okay, Wata blew transmission. but he already found one in Salt Lake City, the nearest big city about 2 hours away from salt flats. (thank you KB for the local info and thanks to smart phone!!) their plan was to haul the 240Z to Salt Lake City, get the tranny, install it there and come back to race tomorrow.

さて、ミッションがぶっ壊れたWタナベ氏。もちろん、ここで諦めるはずはない。できることは全部やる、それがタンボーウィード・レーサーズ。ここから一番近い大きな町、2時間ほどの距離にあるソルトレイク・シティの個人売買で奇跡的に売り物を発見！！今から240Zを積んで向かい、現地で乗せ換えて仮眠、塩に戻って明日のレースに復活。←あくまでも予定。っしゃーーーー！！！

now, gotta find out what was wrong with Spike. without our teammates, out pit looked empty and we felt so lonely. forgot already that it used to be like this for last 10 years... 

さて、調子が悪かったスパイクを直しますか。お隣さんがいないとさみしーーー　昨年まではずっとこうだったことを忘れてしょぼーんとなる。

another great morning on the salt!!

今日も素晴らしい朝！

昨日やりにくそうだったので、シフトのリンケージを微調節。

コースのコンディションが悪すぎて、昨日走った時にセピアの燃料タンクのエンブレムがどこかにすっ飛んでいってしまっていた。凸凹のガッタガタ。

after KB took off, shinya took off but something went wrong with Spike and shinya had to make a early turn out.

KBが出走後、木村氏も出走。しかし調子が悪くて途中でターン・アウトしてしまう。

met up with KB on the return road. shinya looked nervous as he was the rider. KB said it was great. we didn't know that he finally got 103.564 mph yet at this moment. yay!!

リターン・ロードでKBと再会。スパイクの調子が悪いのと、自分のことよりKBが無事か心配して顔色の悪い木村氏。KBは手応えあったみたいだけど、この時点ではまだマイルで三桁超えたことを知らない我々。直後に103マイル（165.70km）出たことを知る。やったーー！！！

spotted some oil leak... since Wata couldn't race anymore today duet to the broken transmission, he was eager to help us.

セピアのオイル・タンクにクラックが入ってオイル漏れしているのを発見。トランスミッションをぶっ壊してもう走れないWタナベ氏が張り切って手を貸してくれている。
