「少し休ませておくれよ、喉が渇きました」。
でもやっぱり気が変って、私達をとりあえず先にチャボまで運んでくれた。

it is not a lotus cortina. it's a british ford cortina. it has formula ford engine. shinya is trying to find some "ford" or "GT" emblems because he's so embarrassed to be a bluffer :)

ロータスロータスってエンブレムがいたるところに張っ付けてあるけど、決してロータスではございません。フォーミュラ・フォードのエンジンを載せた英国フォードのコルチナちゃん。ロータスエンブレムの代わりにフォードかGTのエンブレムを激しく探す、ハッタリや恥ずかしがりやの木村氏。確かにこのお方ロータスってガラじゃないですなぁ。

london calling...

1964 british ford cortina joined CWCC(chabott waffy car club)today　in an unexpected turn of events.　shinya has been a big fan of british ford cars since he was a kid so he's happy now. we don't see much of them in the states, though.

本日「ひょんなこと」から'64のブリティッシュ・フォードのコルチナがCWCC（チャボ・ワッフィー・カークラブ）に仲間入りしました。 （ワッフィーってほんわか系、そしてそんなクラブもちろんないです。）木村氏が積極的に「ひょんなこと」に飛び込んでいった感が否めませんが、ま、良しとしましょう。子供の頃からブリティッシュ・フォードが大好きだったそうです。アメリカではまったく見ませんね、コルチナなんて。なんとも憎めないニューフェース。

 5 speed, yay!

今回は男の5速。

ま、わたくしがまたダッツンみたいに逆噴射して
フェンダー凹ませるのは時間の問題・・・かもね。

ちょいと集中してアグスタの作業したし、外は雨だし、息抜きです、

と言いながら突然思い出したように 

honda SL100のエンジンをリビルトしだす木村氏。

 "making non operating bike running is so fun!" 

he said.

やっぱり動かないものを動くようにするのって本当に楽しいな、

とご機嫌の木村氏。

he took off his jacket and sat on the floor.

seems like he's facing quite a challenge.

しばらくすると、ジャケットを脱ぎ捨て床に座り込む木村氏を発見。
何だか厄介なことになり始めている様子。嗚呼、恐ろしや。

 so he got a pair of universal marker lamps

at the auto parts store near by...

ということで近くのオートパーツ屋で適当に選んだものを装着することに。
前に赤いの付けてるクルマ見たことないけど・・・ま、いいか。

 the old fanta sticker got too dry

so it will stay with the old fender.

お気に入りだった古いステッカーはカッピカピで
古いフェンダーから剥がれず・・・

先週の空のカートのリベンジ、今週は収穫あり。

また箱だよ！OK!

脳波とか調べる謎の装置っぽい、3ドル也。

shinya just fell in love with those switches.

このスイッチに魅せられてしまったそうな。確かにかっこいい、OK!

everything has both yin and yang and a tank is no exception.  when shinya finishes the upper side, the bottom side is waiting...


どんなものにも陰と陽がありまして、タンクも例外ではありませぬ。格好良いタンクが出来上がったと言っても、それは目に見える表側のこと。表があれば必ず裏が待っているのです。だいぶ前に始めてはいたのですが、遂に一気に仕上げることに。

the front fender incident...

 long story short, shinya's datsun got

a damaged front fender. caused by me.

長い話を簡単に言えば、現在木村氏のダッツンのフロントフェンダーが

こういう状態になっております。誰のしわざかはこの際省きます。

 the body is so thin to repair
so shinya had been searching and 

found a pair of front fenders.

ダッツンのボディーはペーラぺラで叩いて直せそうもない。

そして運良く取替え用のフロントフェンダーを手に入れた木村氏。

now it looks like this.

shinya is happy so i won't say anything.

何だか良くなったというか更にボロくなったというか・・・

判断しかねますが、ご本人が満足そうなのであえて何も言いません。

凹ませちゃってすみませんでした。反省してます。
