shinya had to carry this to off street parking area...
"wish it was an empty box..."
by the way, do you see how much we were psyched about this flea market? yes,we took our van there!
it says scanning lens...
the seller told us that it was from a military airplane...
looked around the workshop through the lens.

That's a pretty cool lens. About 1965 my father and I went to a military surplus place in Rocklin Calif. that you guys would have loved. The kind of place that had tip tanks and all manner of ex military stuff. It was called G.I. Joe's. It's long gone now, which is a pity. We were building a home-built plane at the time and were getting a lot of aircraft hardware there. Rooting around one time we found a once 'top secret' aerial balloon camera that was used to spy on Russia and China. Reason we knew that, was because my father used to develop the film they recovered from these after they would come down near Japan. I tried to talk him into buying it, it was only 75 dollars. The military probably paid more than that for the crate it was in. He said, well I can tell you about it now, because obviously it's been de-classified. It had an amazing lens on it. Before satellites this thing was real state of the art.Man I miss that store.
haha very cool!
Ayu,
That was really cool to take a shot through the lens. Makes a neat image with superb depth of feel.
Hairy Larry: wish we could check out that surplus place :<
Lace: never know what you'll find at the flea market :)
