山から戻れば、早速作業に突入です。

ネジ穴を修理するために模型作り用のミニ旋盤（モデラー旋盤）を駆使してスリーブを作るN美氏。モデラーだね。

 he was very satisfied :)

かなり満旋（満足旋盤）だったようです。

today we took niimie's XS650, my SR500 and shinya's sporty.

今日はね、セブンティーズ・ヤマハの集まりにエイティーズ・ナメリカで来ちゃったお友達がいたよ。仕方がないから仲間に入れてあげたよ。自分の好きな乗り物に乗るのがいちばん楽しいんだからいいんだよ。

the cannonball prep, day 4...

after we came back from the canyon, shinya and niimie got back to work both on the indian and the spike.

山から戻ればインディアンとスパイクに集中です。と言ってもあまり写真がありません。なぜなら、紐が切れてカメラを落としたからです。今までは何度落としても無事でしたが、今回はレンズがさようなら。今度からは紐が切れても落ちないように、2重3重にバックアップしておこう。

 

i put an old nikon lens that is shinya's grandfather's memento to my wrecked nikon camera (shinya fixed it with plastic welding by solder) and took those pictures. wrong exposure triangle but i still like the softer touch and will enjoy taking pictures with this lens when i'm not in rush. to me, it takes time to use manual focus and when i documenting them, missing the moment is not an option so i'll need to find an af lens soon.

さて、落としてボロボロになってしまったカメラの本体を木村氏がプラスチックはんだ付けで直してくれました。そして、それに木村氏のお爺様の形見の古いニコンのレンズを付けて撮ってみました。全部露出値がめちゃくちゃですけど、柔らかい感じがとても好きです。ただマニュアルフォーカスだとクルクルパーな私は手間取って決定的瞬間を逃してしまうし、作業している前に立ちはだかってモサモサピントを合わせたりしていると気を散らせてしまうし、作業の瞬間瞬間を記録するということを考えると、オートフォーカスがないのは痛い。あーあ、文明の利器にめちゃくちゃ甘えているなあ・・・さて、レンズ探さないと。

さて、チャボに戻り早速インディアンに取り掛かるN美氏と木村氏。

山が呼んでいる山が呼んでいる山が呼んでいる山が呼んでいる・・・ような気がして、素直に呼ばれる3人組。

my SR, shinya took the CL450, and niimie's XS650. all 70s japanese :O　right after this, on the way to the canyon entrance, i dropped my camera. the lens was done but luckily the body was wrecked but still alive :D

ここで、皆の盛り上がった気分が急降下な衝撃の１打。セブンティーズ・ジャパン代表を名乗る木村氏のオートバイが、80年代のハーレーという事実。急遽blue-twoを借り出し、セブンティーズ・ジャパンに仲間入り。この後、走行中に紐が切れてカメラを落とす。ボロボロになっちゃったけど、なんとボディは生きていた！でもレンズはさようなら。しょぼーん。

took those with my cell phone...when i got here, i felt sooooo good and already forgot about the camera incident.

ここからは携帯で写真を撮る。ここまで登ってくる間に、カメラを落としたことなど忘れてしまうほど気持ちがいい！もう最高！

since it was monday, the cafe was closed. but still, we felt soooooo good.

頂上の御茶屋は月曜日は閉まっている。でも、極楽気分で気持ちがいいのでお茶要らず。

yup, it was monday but we all felt like the "on any sunday".

下りも人っ子ひとりいなくて、ノンストップでびゅんびゅん。まさにオンエニーサンデーごっこ、マンデーだけどな。えーっと、これもチームワークを高めるため、強化合宿の一部だよっと。山最高！

XS650 blazed onto the scene...

picked niimie's XS650 up in a city about an hour away from our workshop and he wanted to ride it back.

インディアンがまだ組みあがっていないので、長距離ライドのトレーニングは新登場ヤマハのXS650で。約１時間の道のりをチャボまで乗って帰るN美氏。同時にチャボ・シェヴィヴァンのテスト・ライド。

XS650 was one of niimie's dream bikes when he was in high school so now he's greatly pleased with the fact that he could afford it 20 years later.
