夕方、木村氏がテストライドに行くというので、スットコドッコイW氏とついて行った。ドッコイはN美氏のXS650で。←勝手に乗ってますけど！

now the sportster runs like a falling star! i could barely catching up with them.

このスポーツスター、流星のように速い！いよいよ馴染んできたようです。

オレゴン州ポートランドのSee See mototcyclesから届いた。これは彼らが企画している21 helmetsというイベント用ので、何でも好きに描いていいらしい。

山を走っているとスポーツスターに付けたリア・ショックのスプリングが固すぎて乗りにくい、ということで少し柔らかくする。

it's a handmade spring compressor out of a harley sprocket spacer :) "stinginess is the mother of invention" shinya said. stinginess? necessity, it is. and it helps us a lot especially when we are out on the field riding old vehicles.

即席でハーレーのスプロケット・スペーサーで作った自家製スプリング・コンプレッサーで。「ケチは発明の母」と断言する木村氏。手持ちの物で工夫する、これってケチとは違う気がするよ。「必要は発明の母」ですね。キャノンボールでもランド・スピード・レースでも、古い乗り物を乗る時ならいつでも、とにかくやけに役に立つ能力だと思います。これが絶対諦めない、に繋がっている気がします。

バルブの擦り合わせにはリズムが大切なんだそうですけど、絶望的にリズム感ゼロの栗一郎。

山から戻るとすぐさま自分の世界に入っていく木村氏・・・制作中のこのへんてこ生物に夢中らしい。

the sportster sounds and runs great. shinya didn't like the rear shock when he was riding so he's going to work on that.

スポーツスターの音がとても素敵です。木村氏は山脈コースのカーブを乗ってみてどうもリア・ショックが気に入らないらしく、戻って柔らかくしてみるそうです。

it's a holiday monday, we decided to hang loose and do nothing but shinya wouldn't stop thinking about this creature that he has been making.

へえ、日本では今日が体育の日、もう10月10日じゃないのですね。こちらはコロンバスの日。で、普段から曜日も日付も関係のない日々を送っているにも関わらず、せっかくの祭日だから今日はのんびりしようということに。普段からのんびりしているというのに。理由は昨日大好きなFナキ先輩からバガボンド1巻から15巻までお借りしたので、読みふけりたい、読書の秋だもの。読みふけりつつも、制作中のへんてこ生物が気になるらしく、作業したり読んだり作業したり読んだり。嗚呼、至福の月曜日。バガボンド読んだことなかったけど面白い！
