DTLA...

we got something to do in downtown LA so we parked our car some distance away and decided to walk around. we bumped into Kai (motocross racer), his dad and D along the way. what a coincidence!

ダウンタウンに用事があったので、車を遠くに停めて歩くことにした。なんとモトクロス・レーサーのKイノスケとお父さん、お父さんの従兄弟のDにばったり出会って、あまりの偶然にびっくり。

 at super retro cafe in little tokyo.

最近新しくて洒落たお店が増加中の小東京で、レトロ”風”ではなく本気でレトロな地元密着型のカフェにて。左側の芸名のインパクト、そして「北フェリー」のB面「錆びた合鍵」の方がかなり気になる。思いがけずB面の方がグッとくる曲な時ってありませんか？合鍵が錆びる様々な状況を妄想・・・深いっ！

okay, shinya changed the t-shirts　(it's becoming a ritual now)　and got ready for the second half of the day. gas tank.

さて、本日も後半戦の前にTシャツを着替える木村氏。このまま儀式化する・・・はずなどない。ほんの気まぐれ。そして、ベーエムヴェーはタンクの続き。

"i always use the same hammer. i really like this one. who made this?" shinya said and checked his favorite hammer that he has been using for several years

「何かいつも使うハンマーがあってさあ、すっごい気に入ってるんだよねー。どこのだろう。」　突然、何年も気に入って使っているハンマーをよ～く見てみる木村氏。

 "OMG!!" he squealed like a high school girl.

「ひゃーっっっ」と女子高生のような奇声を発する木村氏。
 

it says "PL▽MB"! one of his favorites! he got this because he liked the shape and has been using it without knowing it was made by plomb.

最近歴史を知って益々好きになったプロムという古いツール屋さんのものだった！形が好きで手に入れて、知らずに使っていたらしい。

 

"i may have more..."　shinya started to check all of his hammers. but no, it was the only plomb hammer.

もしかしてもっとプロムのハンマー持っているかもしれん！欲を出して探し始める木村氏。しかし、持っていない。
 

 "hmmm, after all, i really like it!"

やっぱりこれ、いい。
 

shinya couldn't let it go and continued to search for another hidden plomb hammer :)

あきらめきれず再びこっそりプロムのハンマーを探し始める木村氏を偶然2階から激写。鋭い視線が笑える。こんなに気に入った古い道具を使って仕事が出来るってしあわせですね。

the other side is always "not that fun" but faster to make...

some people may draw symmetrical patterns and make a pair at once but shinya doesn't. since motorcycles are asymmetric, it's all good :)(:

図面を書いて左右対称のものを同時に作ったりしない木村氏。だから、右をやったら左。「オートバイだって左右対称じゃないからしょーがないんだよ！」とな。そっか、そうだな。

the second half of the day. yup, shinya changed his t-shirts today. he saw some pictures from yesterday, the dirty shinya ones, and asked me several times "who is this? is this really me? was i this dirty?" and he changed his shirts on a whim.

さて、本日後半戦。なぜかtシャツを着替える木村氏。昨日の自身の不審者写真を見て「え？これ誰？これ俺？なんでこんなに汚いの？」ということで、気まぐれに身だしなみを整えてみたようです。

our neighbor K said he got this lil dax and it was running until just few hours ago but now it won't start. shinya just couldn't ignore it.

近所のガラス屋Kがダックスを手に入れたと自慢しに来た。でも、さっきまで走ってたのに今はエンジンが掛からないんだ・・・と聞いちゃ黙っていられない木村氏。

"oh, what did you do?" very excited K asked. "oh, nothing..." said shinya. no, he's not shy. he was just too lazy to explain.

「おお、何が悪かったんだよ、どうやって直したんだよ？」とハイテンションで喜ぶガラス屋に「別に何もしてないよ。」とはぐらかすシャイな木村氏。シャイっていうか説明するのが面倒くさかっただけだろな。
