shinya is overhauling my pre-unit Triumph super stinky tranny (not like the old oil nor rotten gasoline smell but different stinky that we've never smelt before) on a Christmas eve. santa does come to a workshop without a chimney 😺

棚からぼた餅びわ号の、開けたらとてつもなく「くさい」ミッション（古いオイルとかガソリンの匂いではなく、嗅いだことのないくささ😿）をクリスマス・イヴにオーバーホールしてくれている木村氏。一瞬サンタが来たとか思ったけど、くさ過ぎてクリスマス気分にはなれなかった。しかしありがたや。

our old SR500 and brand new SR400 x 2 for the SR 40th anniversary projects.

愛車79年式SR500と、SR40周年記念プロジェクト用の新車のSR400、2台。

two brand new bikes in hand? then shinya and i just had to take them to the canyon to try them out. it was pretty mellow compare to my old SR500 but super stable and reliable. look forward to see how they are going to transformed by shinya next year.

新車が2台手元にある、となれば・・・山、行くしかない。古いSR500に比べると優しいフィーリング。でも安定していて頼りがいがある、どこまででも行けちゃう感じ。この2台が来年いったいどんな風に変身するのか。楽しみ！

along with the G5 that he picked up yesterday and the Le Mans III that he got for R&D, he's letting his mind drift over the new project.

昨日入手したグズィG5とR&D用にちょっと前に入手したル・マンIIIに囲まれて、新しいプロジェクトに思いを馳せる木村氏。

no, no, we didn't come here to hop around antique stores. we came here to pick this Moto Guzzi basket case and some extra parts for the next project. (we brought the XR185 just in case we find some trail to ride around...)

いやいや、アンティーク屋巡りに来た訳ではない。このガラクタじゃなくて次のプロジェクト用のモト・グズィのバスケットケースとおまけ色々をピックアップに来たのである。（一応途中で遊べるトレイルがあるかもしれないので、筆者のホンダXR185も積んである。）

caught in a doodlebug's pit...

had to pick up some parts from a person located in a desert area so we decided to take our small bikes with us and ride in the nature but ended up digging holes in the sandy wash to rescue our van before we unload the bikes 😭

砂漠地帯に住んでいる人のところにパーツを取りに行くことになったので、ついでに砂漠で遊んで帰ろうということになって張り切ってオートバイ積んできたはいいけど、遊ぶ前にチャボバンが砂に埋まっちゃった。では、まずは救助活動から。掘る。

ひたすら掘る。掘って石を敷きつめる。

back up a little bit. dig. put some rocks. and repeat. at one point we almost gave up but we kept on and finally got out from THIS bed of quick sand but there were another one or two ahead of us. so we just careened through and somehow made it to the hard surface area. strangely enough, it was fun after all😸 then, we enjoyed a gorgeous trail ride in the sand afterwards. 

ちょっとさがっては、再び掘る。石、敷きつめる。繰り返す。無理かもしれないと一瞬思うほどどんどん埋まっちゃたりもしたけど、諦めずに掘っては石、掘っては石、でこの砂地獄からなんとか脱出。でもその後もずっと砂地獄を進むしかなくて、猛スピードで大爆走するという作戦でどうにか自力で抜け出した。誰も居ない砂漠で自分たちだけでものすごく盛り上がって、結局楽しかった。懲りずにこの後オートバイで遊んで帰った。

shinya told me to use things that we have at the workshop as much as possible to complete this project. but he got me a pair of new boots!

チャボにあるものだけで仕上げるというのがテーマのこのプロジェクト。だけど、ブーツだけ新品付けても良いって。謎だけどうれしい⤴
