AI-san finally finished his CB750K0 so he rode it all the way to our workshop.

his CB attracted this guy at the near by carl's jr. parking lot while AI-san was parking the bike there.

なんと、近くのバーガー屋の駐車場にCBを停めていたら、このじっちゃんが相当な勢いで食いついてきたらしく、これから面白い所に行くからとチャボまで一緒に連れて来たIタヤ氏。

turned out he is Don Dierking, who raced 50cc like honda CR110 and 300cc CB77super hawk in late 60s in UK, US etc. he raced with Fujio Yoshimura(Pop Yoshimura's son) in canada. and then he decided to pursue a career in auto racing, F5000, in early 70s just like Mike Hailwood. he got ex-works lola T190 in UK and shipped to US and raced it. WOW

話を聞いていくと、このじっちゃんはドン・ダーキング氏と言い、60年代後半にホンダの50cc、CR110やCB77スーパーホークなどでロードレースのレーサーだったそう。ポップ・ヨシムラのご子息不二雄氏と組んでカナダでレースしたり、イギリスでレースしたりしていたそう。マイク・へイルウッドと同じく70年代には4輪に転向、ローラT190でF5000に出場してたんだって！凄すぎる！

his story including how much he respects Pop Yoshimura and Mike Hailwood and other legendary racers who he actually spent time with back then.

貴重な話やエピソード満載のドン爺ちゃん。同じ時代を同じようにレースにのめり込んで過ごしたポップ吉村やマイク・へイルウッドをどれだけリスペクトしているか、どんなに彼らが格好良かったかという話を聞きながら、感動する木村氏。

AI-san didn't have much time so he had to leave. next time we'll go for a canyon ride for sure. his CB sounded sooooo nice. thank you for bringing Don to our workshop!

ドン爺ちゃんの濃ゆい話が尽きず、あまり時間のないIタヤ氏は山に行く間もなく去って行かれました。そう、ドン爺ちゃんをチャボに残して・・・いや、本当に素晴らしい出会いに大感謝です。ありがとうございます！

Don asked shinya to show more of his collections so we took him to #12 where Wata was busy working on the mustang project.

Iタヤ氏が去った後、ドン爺ちゃんが木村氏のコレクションを見せてくれ、と言うので12番にご案内。12番ではWタナベ氏がバリバリとマスタング・プロジェクトに集中しているところでした。

Don was so excited to see #7 and #12 and said "you guys are doing what we were doing back then!!" he also said our garages have the same feelings and spirits as he and his friends' garages in late 60s and early 70s.

ドン爺ちゃんは7番と12番を見て大興奮！「おいおい、あの時俺達がやっていたことを今、お前達がやってるんじゃないか！なんと素晴らしい！」と喜んでおりました。ガレージの雰囲気や流れているスピリットがよく似ていて、とっても懐かしいそうです。

Wata always has some young fellows in his garage to help him around.
