in the meantime, Cheetah picked up his motorcycle, the Comet, from a warehouse near the port and came back.

そうこうしていると港近くの倉庫からオートバイ「コメット」をピックアップしてOサワ氏が戻ってきた。

the Comet is safe and sound, all he needs to do is to finish it up and fire up before Thursday night, where all the invited builders and their work will be showcased at Costa Mesa Speedway. 

無事に海を越えてチャボに到着したコメット。後は日本で間に合わなかった作業の続きが待っている。今年からボーンフリーの前々日の夜にダートレースが催され、その時レース場に招待ビルダー達の作品を展示する、ということになっている。

Cheetah says he will even race it if he can make it. i know he's a great rider but never raced on the dirt track before. he put tremendous time and effort to build this masterpiece (handcrafted frame, girder fork, spool hub, etc.) and he wants to race it before the show? he's crazy. but we love his craziness :P

でもOサワ氏はそれまでにビシッとエンジンを掛けて、展示しないでこれでレースに出るつもりらしい。時間と労力を惜しまずに（フレーム、ガーダーフォーク、スプール・ハブ等、すべて手作り）ここまで仕上げたオートバイでボーンフリー本番前にレースに出るなんて・・・カッコイイ！変の態！でも、本人ダートレース初参戦だし、レースなんだから何が起こるか分からない。転ばないようになんて走れないでしょう。怖い、怖いよぅ。こういうイカれた人、好きだけど。

ままま、そうはいきませぬ。「とりあえず山行こうよ、ターチー！」木村氏からの誘いを断れるはずもなく。時間が無いって言ってるのに山に連行されるOサワ氏。チャボで合宿を選んでしまったらこうなる、の図。
