because he replace the sliders he needed to change jets again.

スライダーを交換したのでそれに伴ってジェットも再び替える。

あら、いやぁな予感・・・

shinya caught the duster having some hacking coughs. then it stalled again when we were waiting for a traffic light.

ダスターが再びちょっとゴボついて信号待ちで一瞬止まってしまったので、戻ってから色々考えられる問題点をチェックする木村氏。

the duster didn't have a filter in the gas tank so maybe it got something　and caused clogging, shinya made a prediction. he added one and now it's no longer coughing.

ガソリン・タンク内にあるはずのフィルターがなくなっていたのが判明、ゴミが詰まる原因かもしれないと診断。ということでフィルターを付けてくれた木村氏。もうゴボつかなくなった。そんなお正月2日目。

suddenly, shinya said "i'll change the fork seal of your XT!"

なんだか突然XTのフォーク・シールを換えてくださるそうなんです・・・

i get antsy when i see his frowning face...

やけに難しい顔をしてらっしゃるのが少し不安。

 geez! seems like an extensive repair...

な、なんか大がかりになってきましたけど・・・

 oh no, his brows are lowered...

やだ、眉間にシワ寄せちゃってるもの。

 it was supposed to be a simple seal replacement. oh, well.

ダスターといいXTといい、新年早々はまってしまった木村氏。筆者の乗り物に時間を取らせてしまって申し訳ない！

ベーエムヴェーのプラグ・カヴァーをジャーマンらしくngkからboschに替える。あら、細かい心配り。

putting the original tank just to see the position. (not going to use the original, not going to do anything to it)

純正のタンクを付けてみて、ポジションや取り付け方法を考えたりする。

 

 the original tank is stunning.

純正のタンクの完成された美しさ。手ごわい。
 

it's not easy to set this aside and make something different. has the big responsible for that.

このタンクを外してわざわざ別のものを作って付けるってことは、責任重大。そんなことを考える新年。

he successfully solved the problem last night but now found that it's not charging...

大晦日から年明けにかけてダスターの問題点を意地で解決し、改めて清々しい元旦を迎える・・・はずだったのに、新たな問題発覚。チャージしていない！

got a new alternator. here in front of autozone, shinya was just reconnecting the speaker wire that came off.

新しいオルタネーターを入手。戻ろうとしたら壊れかけのレーディオ。外れかけていたスピーカーの配線をパーツ屋の前で繋ぐ木村氏、トランクの中。

forgot something so stopped by another parts store. here shinya was fixing the loose stereo wire.

買い忘れたものがあったので、別のパーツ屋に寄る。元旦からまさかのパーツ屋はしご。で、今度はラジオのワイヤーが緩んでいる感じだったので、ここでも直す木村氏。

replaced the alternator and came to the canyon for a test ride.

オルタネーター換えて、山までテスト・ドライブ。

shinya was greatly pleased with the result :) good start.

結果に大満足の木村氏、やり遂げ感。良いスタートですな。
