勝手にSR40周年記念プロジェクト、シート周りの制作を進める。

shinya was concentrating on this in the straightforward manner all day today. 

think something new in the head and bring it into shape by hands. "that's what i'm good at and that's what i want to do," shinya often tells me.  " i don't want to accomplish anything else or anything more. i can enjoy other things because i do this." he couldn't be happier if he could continue doing what he's doing now and could ride motorcycles he loves. i think that is one hell of a fantastic life. 

朝から晩まで淡々と作業に集中していた木村氏。

何か新しいことを自分の頭で考えてそれを自分の手で形にする、それが唯一自分に出来ることだしやりたいことなんだって。それ以外またはそれ以上のことを成し遂げようとは思っていないし、これがあるから他のことも楽しめる。だから出来る間はずっと「考えて作って壊してまた作って」を繰り返して、好きなオートバイに乗れれば最高にしあわせなんだそう。そういう、これってものをひとつ持っていて、それが人生のすべてになるなんて羨ましいし、いいなあと改めて思った。

ル・マンIIIに付いていたハンドルが気に入らなかったらしく、見つけたオリジナル風のを装着。

it has been raining for two days...

rains finally arrived. for dry southern california, it supposed to be blessed rain but it also bringing new danger, mudslide, in those areas burned by recent wildfires. our prayers are with all those impacted by the fires and mudslides.

2日連続で雨が降っている。年中干ばつの南カリフォルニアにとっては恵みの雨ではあるけれど、先月の大火事で燃えた広大なエリアは今度は土砂崩れという新たな危険に晒される。どうか被害が最小限で収まりますよう。ああ、人間の身勝手さ。
